The punk movement emerged from the music genre "punk rock" which was elaborated
from the 1960`s garage bands known as "proto-punk." Underground bands constructed a new
music genre followed by the psychedelia era in the 1960`s that pushed a harsher sound to the

You cant take it seriously; there is no depth of character. Its flat; its just an icon. Its
vacuous, its empty, its just like a Coca-Cola bottle. If thats what weve got to consider
the Queen as, then in some respects Id be happy to say that perhaps we wont have any
more queens as we tried to impose, with a thought about the Queen back in the days
when I managed the Sex Pistols. We took the Queens portrait, by Cecil Beaton, we
printed it just like a silk screen image no different from Andy Warhol here, we filled in
some colors, but we put a safety pin through her nose, and we wrote on the side God
Save the Queen, she aint no human being. We basically didnt molly-coddle her, we
didnt put her up on a pedestal, we were basically saying this icon is a joke. Because
right there in the 70s, we were already demonstrating our resistance against this vacuous,
gilded, Hollywood, American way of dominating culture with stories that were genuinely
untrue. We were now trying to authenticate our beliefs, move away from American
culture, resist and fight it and come up with a culture of our own. That was punk rock,
and we wrote the song and equally painted a portrait, our version of the Queen, and got it
on the front page of the Daily Mirror, on Queens Silver Jubilee day!
This quote portrays on how punk rock affected the political view of the different powers.
Influencing this view people started to involve themselves more in this movement. They
overthrow the heritage power created in the U.K and start to rebel against it.

The outputs of this social movement were a creation of new music genre, new stylistic clothes
and fighting for freedom rights. The new music genre was developed by simple natural chords
and lo-fi recordings which directed into a do-it-yourself industry. Marking for independent music
labels music marketing became more liberal for example, band patches and bracelets.
The chaos created in the punk rock movement is created by violently reacting to different
opinions. Negative aspects of these movements where the riots and violence was caused by the
protestors. In 2006, San Bernardino punk riot started between neo-Nazis and antiracist when a
neo-Nazi argued about white supremacy leading to anger the antiracist punks. Breaking over the
fence the rioting started implementing the police. Punks destroyed local police cars, and stores
leading to injured people and 500,000 dollars in damages. This incident occurred by the non-

Constantly being oppressed by the upper forces for "crossing ideological lines" as quoted by
Vladimir Kozlov "Siberian Punk, it seems, had its time and place an era when young people far
from the Imperial Center were looking for ways to express their rebellion against the dying
communist system. " which opened the doors for many adolescents in the ending of the soviet
