Strengths of the lesson:

Adhraa begins the lesson by introducing the children to the new topic. It is
evident that she has learned the routines in the classroom. In the short time
Adhraa has been in Ms. Harcombe's class, Adhraa has learned the children's
names. During the opening activity Adhraa explained the meaning of
conjunctions and reinforced the concept by showing a video to the students. The
children listened carefully, Adhhraa followed the video with a PowerPoint to
reinforce the topic: conjunctions - if, when and because.

The lesson plan was well prepared and submitted in a timely manner. All
activities were relevant and age appropriate. Considering this being Adhraa's
third semester into the program. She has demonstrated a good ability to teach
and manage a class. She effectively conveyed the learning outcomes to the
students.

In this lesson Adhraa also incorporated technology by using Kahoot as one of the
activities. Adhraa takes risks by using new technologies in the classroom, she
makes an effort to motivate her students.

Classroom Presence: Adhraa has good presence in the classroom she is confident
and takes the lead while teaching the lesson. You make eye contact with the
children and you use positive reinforcement with your students.

Time management: You completed the lesson in a timely manner. After finishing
the activates you asked students to give you examples of conjunctions. Although
this was not on your lesson plan, you have demonstrated an awareness and an
ability to adjust to different situations while teaching.

Teachers voice: Your voice is clear and you are learning to project your voice in
the classroom, keep practicing your Teachers Voice. You have good intonation and
volume.

Communication: Your communication skills are still developing. However, during

this lesson your communicated well with the students, you had few grammatical
and pronunciation errors.
Classroom management: You used the clapping strategy to get the students'
attention consistently throughout the lesson and students responded well to your
commands.

Teaching strategies/activities: Video, matching activity as a group, individual

worksheet, Kahoot as a team.

Areas for development:

Adhraa has realized the importance of planning, I am very happy that you have
seen the value of preparing detailed plans and the impact the lesson plan has for
new teachers. However, you are still developing in most areas of teaching. I
strongly suggest you keep practicing the following areas:

Transitions
Keep practicing and improving English as you second language
Give positive reinforcement
Give clear instructions before each activity
Add more detail to your lesson plan
