our church and community. It showcases new events that may not be
present in our monthly newsletter. The Weekly News is also posted
on our website: www.esumc.net along with other news and events.

Welcome Visitors!
If this is your first time worshiping with us, we welcome
you. As a church we are committed to Love Jesus Christ
and to Share His Love. We offer three services: 8:30 and
11 a.m. are traditional, and 9:45 a.m. is contemporary.
~ Our Welcome Center is located in Oberholtzer Hall, the room next
to the sanctuary. Brochures on all our ministries are available there.
~ Our Holy Grounds Café is a place for light refreshments and coffee
from 8:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. each Sunday in our Fellowship Hall. The
café provides worshipers with an informal opportunity for fellowship.
~ Our Infant and Toddler Nurseries are available every Sunday from
8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. They are located on the lower level of the church
and are staffed with our full-time, professional attendants and parent
volunteers.
~ Children’s Church for ages four through third grade is offered at the
11 a.m. service and is guided by a parent volunteer. Children will be
dismissed after the Children’s Message. Please pick up your children
in the lower level of the church following worship.

To Love Is To Listen!
What is Stephen Ministry? One-to-One Ministry by
trained, caring Lay Ministers who have responded to Christ's call to
"carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of
Christ." Galatians 6:2
What is a Stephen Minister? A Stephen Minister is a child of God
who walks beside a hurting person; a caring Christian friend who really
listens; a lay person who has received many hours of training in how to
provide distinctively Christian care.
A Stephen Minister is NOT a counselor or therapist; a problem
solver; a casual visitor.
How Can You Be Involved? Do you have the gift of mercy,
encouragement, or intercession? Pray for our Stephen Ministers; help
us stay sensitive to those who need caring support; help make others
aware of the support system that is available; consider God's direction
as to whether you should become a Stephen Minister.
Beginning September 8, an in-depth training course will be offered
for members who desire to become involved in this life changing
ministry. A Stephen Ministry representative will be in Fellowship Hall
today to answer any questions. For more information call Peggy Strack

Keep Your Kids Safe! Every year more than 30 children die because
they are left alone in a car. Pick up a list of safety tips from the
Information Bulletin Board in Fellowship Hall to be sure this tragedy
never happens to your family!

Opportunities That Enhance the Fellowship of the Body of Christ
S.W.A.T (Seasoned Workers Action Team) meets Tuesday, July 27
at 9 a.m. at the church. Any seniors willing to give three hours to the
church doing odd jobs, please show up. Questions? Call Bob

The Annual Bargain Basement is Friday, July 30 from 8 a.m. -
3 p.m. & Saturday, July 31 from 8 a.m. - noon in Fellowship Hall.
Donations are now being received in Fellowship Hall. Lunch with

New Church Directory! One way we can be more welcoming is to
recognize the names and faces of those in our congregation. This
directory is also helpful to leadership teams and the pastoral and hospital
visitation volunteers. Dates for pictures are October 5-9 and November

Re-Entry Program of Monroe County is having a Tupperware
Fundraiser, Saturday, July 31 from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at Jesus the
Christ Church, on Tanite Road, in Stroudsburg. Light refreshments will

Just Press Play ! Opportunities to Support and Enhance Worship

Summer Discipleship Programs
Continuing today: "Just Press Play," a video-based discipleship series,
featuring programs on a variety of Christian topics, including faith,
marriage, parenting, leadership, and many more! These programs will
take place on Sunday mornings through August 22 during the 9:45 a.m.
and 11:00 a.m. services, in the back section of Fellowship Hall.
Feel free to attend any or all of the sessions!
Today's Topic: Sacred Pathways with Gary Thomas. In this program,
you'll learn that when it comes to spirituality, one size does not fit all!
Instead, come to discover your own, God-given spiritual temperament.
Discover the joy and freedom of allowing your true personality, gifts
and style to be part of the way you relate to God in worship and prayer.

How to Ring Chimes and Bells - Classes for beginners will be Sundays
August 8, 15 & 22 from 9-9:40 a.m. in the Bell Room. Interested adults,
teens, and children in at least 3rd grade will be shown basic skills on how
to play and read music. Previous music experience is helpful but not
necessary. Persons may attend any or all of the sessions. No obligation
to continue in the fall season, but hoped for. Please contact Norm or

Faith Promise Update
Dona Sensening, Director of Spanish Health Ministries, sent a letter
"Celebrating 30 years of God's faithfulness." In the beginning, the
basic premise was to work with the medical needs of the
Spanish-speaking neighbors in Southern Chester County with a focus
on pregnant women and their babies. This focus has not changed, but
has been expanded to serve women, babies, and children with critical,
long-term medical needs.
SHM desires to demonstrate the love of Christ through medically
helping these families. "We thank God when hearts are open to the
saving love of Jesus Christ. As a nurse I have great joy in helping my
patients medically but as a Christian it brings even greater joy to see
them believe in the Lord Jesus and be spiritually changed for
eternity."
Dona continues, "Having a handicapped child or a handicap yourself
raises many spiritual questions. Where is God and why has He
permitted this disability? Though we do not have all the answers, we
can lead them to God's Word for comfort and direction."
Future needs focus on plans to add another bilingual staff person, a
Christian man to minister to the men of the families, and for
assistance to make it possible for the families to obtain and maintain
much needed medical insurance. Insurance is key for the families
they serve with special needs and medically fragile children.

photos about the staff and activities. The commitment of SHM in
serving others through the abiding faithfulness of God, as well as our
13 other partners is witness to God at work every day.
Your support through prayers and gifts is needed and appreciated.
