In the first volume it deals with the prevention of mental disorders and as well controlling them by
understanding community dynamics. Most of all it's important to have a plan by staffing and staff
training. Being able to understanding the multinational forces in which provoke or ameliorate many
mental disorders. Programs are out there to reduce incidence and impairment of different durations which
may result in mental disorders of all types in a community that has been untouched.

This volume contains a lot of Pavlov's unpublished papers from his earlier book in the 1928. Many of the
chapters have brief summaries of the theories he supported such as cortical function based off his
experiments of his lifetime study. He emphasis on different parts of the nervous system, subcortical
processes is all based off the nervous system requesting a strong stimuli that enables the motivational
process.

Over time psychiatry has developed off different principles such as race and culture. One aspect that
influences a lot our overall behavior that we dont realize is politics and social interaction. Racism
changes our frame of thought to negative, uncouincly we are processing information in a way that is not
acceptable but due to the fact that we dont think deeply due to lack of brain capabilities. Scientist have
developed research to fully understand the purpose of this and how it can be modified
