Lesson Plan

prepared by Mr. Joerel Fariquela

I. Expectation
At the end of the lesson the learners are expected to:
A. Teaching Objectives
1. Discuss the idea of Motion
2. Differentiate Motion from Movement
3. Explain each of Newtons 3 Laws of Motion
4. Solve problems on Newtons Law of Motion
II. Subject Matter
A. Topic: Newtons Law of Motion
B. Reference: Young, Hugh D. and Roger A. Freedman. University
Physics. 11th ed.
Addison Wesley, 2003.
C. Materials: OHP, Laptop, Marker
III. Teaching and Learning Activities
A. Preparation
1. Daily Routine
1.1 Prayer
1.2 Checking of school IDs and Uniform
1.3 Checking of Classroom condition
1.4 Checking of Attendance
B. Review
The teacher will ask the previous lesson last meeting about Force.
C. Motivation
The teacher will be giving out pieces of papers with corresponding
meaning and ask them to give it out to someone else.
D. Pre-Activity
The teacher will ask the student to guess the scrambled words
E. Discussion
Motion- It refers to the movement of an object away from a fixed
reference point.
Inertia- A tendency to resist from a sudden change in motion.
Law of Inertia- An object which is at rest remains at rest while an
object which is in
motion remains in uniform motion UNLESS A NET
EXTERNAL FORCE
ACTS UPON IT.
Law of Acceleration- When a net external force acts on a body, the
body accelerates in
the SAME DIRECTION as the net force. This
acceleration
DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL to the net force and
INVERSELY
PROPORTIONAL to the mass of the body.
Law of Interaction- In every action there is an EQUAL BUT OPPOSITE
REACTIONS

IV. Evaluation
Answer the following questions:

1. If the mass is 2Kg and the force is 6N, the acceleration is ___.

2. If the acceleration of an object is 1m/s^2 and the mass is 5kg ,

what is the Force?

3. Some people say that the force of inertia, throws the passengers
forward when a car breaks sharply. What is wrong with this
explanation?

4. Its not the fall that hurts you. Its the sudden stop at the
bottom. Translate this saying into the language of Newtons laws
of motion.

5. A person can dive into water from a height of 10m without injury,
but a person who jumps off the roof of a 10-m-tall building and
lands on a concrete street is likely to be seriously injured. Why is
there a difference?
