WELCOME MESSAGE
Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On Behalf of the Indonesian Heart Association (IHA), We are pleased to inform you that the 26th
Annual Scientific Meeting of Indonesian Heart Association (26th ASMIHA) will take place in
Jakarta, from 20 - 23 April, 2017. The Meeting will be conducted in collaboration with Asian
Pacific Society of Cardiology (APSC), American College of Cardiology (ACC), European Society of
Cardiology (ESC), ASEAN Federation of Cardiology (AFC), Cardiac Society of Australia and New
Zealand (CSANZ), and the Japanese Circulation Society (JCS).

The theme of this year is Multidisciplinary Approach to Cardiovascular Disease in All Levels of
Care. This theme reflects the challenges faced by health professionals related to the increase
in the complexity of heart diseases with various new diagnostic and therapeutic modalities
introduced. At the same time Universal Health Coverage with limited budget has been
implemented in some countries, like Indonesia. Certainly, multidisciplinary approaches are
required to deal with the challenges while empowering health professionals including
physicians, nurse, and allied health professionals in all levels of care.

The scientific program will include workshops, lectures, debates, case presentations, late
breaking studies, young investigator award, free paper, poster presentation as well as industry
symposia. During the four days of scientific sessions, attendees will experience more
interactive sessions, featuring the latest updates on acute cardiac practice, heart failure,
prevention, hypertension, cardio-metabolic syndrome, surgery, echocardiography,
electrophysiology and pacing, vascular disease, cardiovascular imaging, intervention, pediatric
cardiology and interact with colleagues from around the world.

ASMIHA is designed to meet the specific educational needs of medical professional involved in
the management and treatment of cardiovascular diseases as they are encountered by general
physicians, cardiologist, cardiovascular surgeons, pediatricians, internist, nurses and allied-
health professionals. This scientific meeting would also be beneficial for those in education
and training, such as fellows, residents, medical students and nursing or allied-health
professional students.

We believe that the meeting will stimulate creative exchange of ideas and provide you with the
opportunity to renew old friendship

We look forward to your active participation in the 26th ASMIHA and see you soon in Jakarta on
April 2017.

Yours Sincerely,

SPECIAL FEATURES
Meeting Spotlight: Multidisciplinary Approach to Cardiovascular Disease
in All Levels of Care
This year we are going to focus on comprehensive cardiovascular services in all levels
of healthcare institution.

How to Sessions for General Practitioners

This session is designed specifically for general practitioners who work in the primary
health care.

Joint Symposiums
These sessions will integrate national expert in cardiology with top international
experts from prestigious societies that study the field of cardiology from around the
world, such as: American College of Cardiology (ACC), European Society of Cardiology
(ESC), Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology (APSC), Asean Federation of Cardiology
(AFC), Cardiac Society of Australia & New Zealand (CSANZ), and Japanese Circulatory
Society (JCS).

Debate Session
This session will discuss in depth a topic related to management of cardiovascular
diseases that still have different way to apply in the real world. A special topic will be
chosen and different experts will present her/his view on the topic from different
angle. This session will also provide some insights on how to make interpretations to
the evidences available on that specific topic. Finally, it will be up to the audiences to
internalize the facts and evidences to translate them in daily clinical practice.

Late Breaking Original Studies and Best Published Paper

New original paper or studies are the core of any scientific meeting worldwide. These
evidences come from well-designed studies to answer problem or hypothesis arise in
our daily practice. This session will feature results of high impact studies conducted
in Indonesia. The new findings or newly published paper from Indonesian scholar will
be presented.

Bring Up Your Cases: Discuss with The Experts

In accordance with the theme to empower health professionals in all levels of care,
we invite colleagues to bring up their unique or difficult cases on the field of
cardiology and vascular medicine in daily practice to the session. A panel of
cardiovascular experts with different subspecialties in cardiovascular medicine will
join the interactive discussion with the audiences.
