-yes, since the terminals of wattmeter are connected for any two lines
in series for the current and parallel for the voltage. The algebraic sum
of the two wattmeter is the power delivered to the load

2. What is the significance of a negative indication on a wattmeter?

-Indication of negative reading is that pointer tries to deflect in
negative direction to the left of zero. With this manner, the negative
value on the wattmeter indicates the power factor of the system. For
all power factors between 0 to 0.5, one wattmeter shows negative and
the other one shows positive, for lagging power factor. For all power
factors between 0.5 to 1 both wattmeter gives positive reading.
