The document provides details about an environmental impact assessment for the construction of a 40-bed hospital in Dewathang, Bhutan. Key points include:
- The project will be constructed over three years with a total budget of 473.712 million Ngultrum allocated in the 11th and 12th Five Year Plans.
- Impacts of the construction include destroying forest cover for timber, sedimentation of surface water from construction activities, and potential for slope failures due to rainfall and earthquakes.
- Mitigation measures involve providing proper pipe water and tanks for sedimentation and water supply, using silent blasting to reduce noise pollution, and establishing toilets and bathrooms near the labor camp to improve sanitation

Assignment-2 On Environmental impact Assessment (EIA)
Due Date: 27 March, 2017

Name: Anita Limbu (05150024)
Name of the project: Construction of 40 bedded, Dewathang hospital. Total allocated fund for the Project: Nu.473.712 million Fund allocation in 11th FYP: Nu. 260 millon Fund allocation in12th FYP: Nu. 213.712 million Duration: Three years. Process of construction The dismantling of the previous hospital structures were done. The ground was leveled and then the excavation was done. List of Impacts Destroying of forest. Lots of wood work works were to be carried out whereby it resuled in destroying of forest cover around. The firewood land timbers were provided through local supplier. Water Management. 1. Sedimentation of surface water. Due to multiple usages of water in various activities lead in the accumulation of impurities and waste in the form of precipitates. 2. Slope failure. Slope failure (collapses of slope due to weakened self retain ability under the influence of rainfall and earthquake) 3. Water seepage. For the prevention of slope failure, tanks were constructed and for the sedimentation of surfaces water and water supply, proper pipe water was provided. Air and noise pollution There was emission of toxic pollutants from the site of construction accompanied with the noise and air pollution which concerned a lot to the people residing around. Therefore silent blasting was done to prevent noise pollution. Outbreak of disease due to improper hygiene. As the Labour camp was built near the construction site, proper hygiene facilities were not established so sanitation and hygiene were not maintained properly. To solve this problem three toilet along with two bath rooms were provided for the maintaining of proper sanitation.
