Frame of Reference
I believe the values of education aims to achieve two basic outcomes. Firstly helping

students to better understand the values that guide their own daily lives. Secondly, contributing

to changes in values held collectively by communities and personally by individuals.

My goal of teaching is to creative a comfortable and safe environment zone for students.

I intend each of my student are being creativity, passion, courage and perseverance. I want

them to feel good about themselves and be good, honest people in the way they live their lives.

Relationships with learners, parents, colleagues and community

I will have a positive and strong relationship with my students, parents and colleagues.

Teachers play an important role in the students school experience. I will be a teacher that

students always feel free to speak to. I will be a teacher that when students have problems and

I will help them find the solution together. I believe school is the place where students feel

comfortable and welcomed. Positive parent and school communications benefit parents. I will

try to create a classroom environment that parents will be involved in their childrens

education by getting ideas from school. A good communication between parents and schools is

necessary for students success. I will try to use conference, home visits, telephone calls and

open house to communicate with parents. I will start communicating with parents from the first

day of school and keep them informed throughout the year. Every teacher needs support

networks, both formal and informal. As a new teacher, be proactive about introducing myself

to neighboring teachers, as well as other teachers on my grade level or in my department.

Dont be hesitate to ask any question and listen carefully to colleagues response. I will try to

build a support network for myself, this is including meet and exchange lesson plan ideas with

other teachers. Talk to the teachers at district meetings, conferences and gathering of

professional organizations to learn about new ideas and build additional collegial relationships.

Teaching and learning strategies

Learning takes place within the social and emotional context of each students life.

Students learn best when they take an active part in what is to be learned. I will try to use

activity-based teaching and learning strategies that strive to improve students achievement by

engaging students in individual or group experiential learning opportunities such as purposeful

conversation, project planning, hands on inquiry and analysis and product creation. That will

including oral presentation, learning centre, field trip, discussion and retelling. I will also

corporate with other teaching and learning strategies, cooperative strategies that students

work together in specific way, independent strategies that develop the ability to take

responsibility for students learning and understanding how they learn and inquiry based

strategies. For inquiry based strategies, students will improve their achievement by engaging

them individual and group investigation or research of topic, idea or problems. There are a

variety of teaching and learning strategies that teacher can use to improve student learning. In

my classroom, students will be able to pursue topics that interest them. They will discover

topics of interest through their own inquiry and through resources that I bring into the

classroom.

Classroom management
My goal of classroom management is to make sure there is balance between clear

consequences for unacceptable behavior and reward for acceptable behavior. Teachers should

identify expectations for student behavior and communicate those expectations to students

periodically. Rules should be posted in the classroom, a small number of general rules that

emphasize appropriate behavior may be helpful. I will teach students classroom routines such

as what to do when they finish an assignment early, how to get extra help, how to move in to

and out of the classroom. This provides students with a sense of responsibility and allow them

to make decisions that should be theirs rather than the teachers. I will also provide flexible

learning goals by sitting down and have a conversation with students. Giving students different

kinds of choice. I will review my management skills regularly by self-reflecting and by taking the

advice of my colleagues, and making changes to them as they are needed. It is important to

remember that classroom management is not about achieving order. It is about achieving order

so productive learning can occur. The goal of classroom management is to promote learning.

Formative and summative assessment

I will use different forms of assessment to gauge students knowledge and abilities in my

future classroom. Students motivation and learning can improve through the use of student-

involved classroom assessment. I will incorporating performance based assessments into my

classroom. All of those assessment require students to apply what they are learning to real

world tasks. For formative assessment, when incorporated into classroom practice, the

formative assessment process provides information needed to adjust teaching and learning

while they are still happening. The process serves as practice for the student and a check for

understanding during the learning process. It guides teachers in making decisions about future
instruction. I will use observation, questioning, discussion, graphic organizer, peer assessment,

practice presentations, visual representations and individual white boards as a reference of

formative assessment. There are different possible types of summative assessment including

performance task, written product, oral product and test. I will create rubrics and checklist to

help students develop their assessment, thereby allowing students concerned to be aware of

what is expected. There should be a balance between formative assessments and summative,

the more we know about individual students as they engage in the learning process, the better

we can adjust instruction to ensure that all students continue to achieve by moving forward in

their learning.

Role of curriculum & competencies

The new curriculum of British Columbia provides teacher, students and community a

measurable plan and structure for delivering a quality education. The curriculum identifies the

learning outcomes, standards and core competencies that students must demonstrate before

advancing to the next level. As a teacher, I will go and referee B.C. New curriculum on a regular

basis, the one thing I think the curriculum is fantastic is always changing to a better level. In

this ever-changing world, the curriculum has adapted to suit our learners needs and will help

better prepare them for a future that is more technology based than we have ever seen before.

I will bring more project based learning activities to my classroom, make sure students adapted

their learning relevant to real world problem. The role of curriculum and competencies

remains me students want to have useful knowledge, not the knowledge to be able to pass the

test, but knowledge for the sake of applying it to everyday life problems.
Relationship between theory and practice
I like how the new curriculum fosters authentic learning through an inquiry approach, instead

of content- heavy approach. A major concern is how teacher apply theories and principles in

ways to show their relevance to classroom practice and real world situation. How do we

bridging theory and practice? You will need this someday. It is the thing that all of us as

teachers have said to our kids at one time or another. Why does a third grader really care

about the different kinds of rocks? I would go one step further. It is not enough that we help

students understand how important school is, school must help our studetns understand how

important they are to the lives we all lead. Making learning whole, helping students to play

junior varsity game of the world they live in. I will try my best to give kids work that has no

connection to the lives they lead. This is at the heart of what we mean when we talk about

inquiry-driven, project-based learning. It is an important way we make sure that we work

toward empowerment over simple engagement. Students will do the work necessary to make

real connections and do meaningful work when students have ownership of the world and see

how the work is important, both to their lives and to the lives of others.

Needs of diverse learners through inclusive practices

Differentiated instruction means to educators is how it meets all students needs. Before I do

any planning, instruction and assessment practices, I will learn and know every students

learning needs. I will learn their family background in order to know who they are and who they

comes from. I will use differentiated instruction to engage students on the basis of the skill sets,

interests and learning styles. Offering variety provide the students with opportunities to learn

in ways that are responsive to their own communication styles, cognitive styles and aptitudes.
In addition, the variety helps them develop and strength other approaches to learning. I will set

up a comfortable and nice classroom environment, it will provide a wide book choices for

students in different levels. Give each adult in the room a small group of students to monitor

and support. It is helpful to split the class into groups and give each adults a small number of

students to monitor and focus on when we doing any activity. I will use flexible grouping that

included varied small groups instruction, large group and paired instruction. I will also bring

inquiry based learning to my classroom, make sure each of my student is going to get access to

a wide range of resources and supporting them in using various technologies for learning.

Social justice issues and how to address them

Learning about a social justice issue as a school can help students to build greater empathy and

deeper understanding across all grade levels. I want to create a learning environment that

engages teachers, student and families in a deeper way to understand and address different

social issues such as poverty, food insecurity, racism and environmental justice. There are many

different methods to approach a social justice issue at every grade level, and the variety of

these experiences can be rich and though provoking. I will also provide opportunity for parents

and guardians to get involved with learning about social justice. Parents and guardians will build

a deeper level social justice contents along with the students. A school community can be the

source of great strength and inspiration. Linking students to real world problems and multiple

perspectives. I believe that an educator can promote social justice, equity, and inclusion

through its practices, I will create a strong environment in my classroom community. .

Sustainability and how youre understanding impacts practice

Sustainable development is the development that meets the needs of our future generations to

meet their own needs. The concepts of needs is state of technology and social organization on

the environment ability to meet present and future needs. I will plan some field trips for

students so thy will take time to observe and poking around. Offer the options of reflective

writing assignment. There is an important relationship between the classroom and community.

I will encourage students to see not only their own school, but also the city and countryside, as

a sustainability classroom. For both intermediate grades and primary grades, students will

consider to attend a city council meeting and write a response, I will also bring some green

projects for the classroom. Me and my classroom will thinking about that what can be done to

preserve our increasingly fragile planet.

The ways in which governance structures impact your practice

According to Dr. Bruce Sheppard, the governance structures obviously have the potential to

positively impact teaching and learning. As an educator, my job is being familiar the principle of

governance structures and with an understanding of the learning process of students. During

my practicum, I will ask school staff including principle and mentor teacher about individual

students need. I will make sure I will serve the needs of every learner, it is essential that every

instructional decision focus on the individual learner. During my planning and teaching time, I

will assign some appropriate duties to EA, including clarify elements of the lesson for students

who are having trouble, supervise reinforcement activities, supervise reinforcement activities,

and etc.. I will build strong relationships with my colleagues and principals, in order to serve as

a support system during times of uncertainty and difficulty. I will make sure to open minded to

seek outside help or advice from my colleagues and principals.
