To Whom It May Concern:

It is with honor that I am writing this letter of recommendation for Ms.

Jeannette Sather for the position of Assistant Principal for Chaska Middle
School. I have worked with Ms. Sather in the Minneapolis Public School
district for the last three years. She has taken on many instructional
leadership roles in her time here in Minneapolis, and regardless of the role or
the school site, she has approached each new position with a dedication to
quality teaching and learning for our students.

Ms. Sather has an extensive background in high quality instruction, both

from a teacher background as well as a teacher leader background. When
she began working at Northeast Middle School, she was our Instructional
Specialist. The district had not provided clear parameters for this role, so Ms.
Sather developed her own, and was deeply engaged with our teachers in
reflecting on their practice, and supporting marked improvement in
instructional strategies. She established credibility quickly with the staff by
being organized, working hard, and knowing exactly what manner of support
each individual teacher needed in order to feel that they were growing and
becoming stronger in their craft.

When Ms. Sather moved on from Northeast to a district level Turn Around
Team position, we continued to keep in touch, as Jeannette reached out for
advice and coaching sessions. She is highly reflective in her practice, and
regularly seeks authentic and critical feedback. Ms. Sather is a scholarly
leader, and refers to recent research and publications that inform best
practice in the areas of teaching and leadership.

Her most recent endeavor, the Aspiring Principals Academy is another

example of her commitment to continuous learning, and application of the
new concepts and principles she has learned. In her role as both student and
Principal Intern, she has connected with her building administration to
explore how new strategies will impact student learning, building climate and
a positive overall school community.

Ms. Sathers leadership skills and deep pedagogical knowledge make her a
prime candidate for a school administrator job, and she will be a strong asset
to any team she joins.
