I have been working at Elizabeth Hall Elementary School this past
year and have felt very fortunate to have had Jeannette Sather as my go to administrator throughout the year, even though her position was as a TOSA administrative intern.
In my current role and as a long time teacher in public schools, she
embodies what I believe to be what a principal's role is all about. She is patient with and caring of all the children, and especially so with our most needy and demanding students. Beyond that, though, she has been encouraging to me in the various roles that I have been assigned to, one of them in particular that doesn't fall in my area of strength.
Jeannette learns what needs to be done, and she does it with
efficiency and kindness. She not only listens, but she really hears. She shows her appreciation to the staff for our specific accomplishments, as opposed to the more often general, "You are all doing a great job!" once a week at staff meetings. In doing so, she clearly models how all of us in education are asked to be with the students in our care. I wish her all the best! Any school will be fortunate to have her as an administrator and head coach of their team.
