CHAPTER III

Methodology

Preparation

In preparation for the product, the researchers will try to find the best
weight for the projectile in order for it to have the maximum potential when
it comes to launching the object. The design of the projectile is very simple.
It is a pipe- based cannon which it uses air pressure (it is pneumatic), or
combustion of a flammable gas, an example of this would be the aerosol
propane to launch the object at high speeds. In fact, the experimental
variable would be the size of the projectile itself.

Step 1 - Cut the PVC pipes with a hack saw to the appropriate lengths
according to the diagram below. Make sure the pipes are cleaned.

Step 2 - Wrap some Teflon tape on the thick end of the Schrader valve about
4 or 5 times around. Drill a small hole equal to the circumference of the thick
end of the Schrader valve on the 4" PVC pipe (Air Tank) where shown. Use a
wrench to screw the Schrader valve into the small hole.

Step 3 - Apply PVC primer then PVC cement to the ends of the pipes where
shown while cementing all the pipes together. Wait 24 Hours for the cement
to dry before shooting.
These are the materials and tools needed for the pre
