Introduction
Photoshop is an image editing software developed and manufactured by Adobe Systems Inc.
Photoshop was created in 1988 by Thomas and John Knoll. Nowadays, the software is
considered as the leaders in photo editing software. It is because, Photoshop allows users to
manipulate, crop, resize and correct the color on digital photos. The software is particularly
popular amongst professional photographers and graphic designers. Photoshop has vast support
for graphic file formats but also uses its own PSD and PSB file formats which will support all the
features. Upon loading Photoshop, a sidebar with variety of tools with multiple image-editing
functions appears to the left of the screen. These tools typically fall under the categories of
drawing, painting, measuring and navigation, selection, typing and retouching. Some tools
contain a small triangle in the bottom right of the toolbox icon. These can be expended to reveal
similar tools.

Adobe Photoshop is wonderful. It is used to edit the digital image application. It very helps you
to improve the quality of a photograph.

There are several advantages of Adobe Photoshop. When you learn how to use Photoshop, it can
improve your skills. It is possible to clear up the blemishes and the imperfections in the photos.
But, we can change the background of the photos. Besides, with Adobe Photoshop, one can
quickly and easily import videos and photos into the software. Then, most of the edits regularly
done on photos can be completed with a single click. For example, it is possible to automatically
whiten teeth or reduce red eye with the simple click of a button. On top of that, no professional
training is needed to complete the complex tasks like adjusting the skin tone.

There are also has some disadvantages of using Photoshop. This software is relatively simple to
use but it is not a program designed for the beginners. It is primarily a photo-editing program for
the professionals that plan on editing many photos on a regular basis. There are many difference
tools to do very different things, so the beginners will take a long time to learn how to use this
software.

Next, most beginners will not begin to touch the functionality of this program and they could get
what they need from another program. Many people who are unfamiliar with editing the photos
on Adobe Photoshop, the advanced functionality will be useless for them.

Adobe Photoshop also requires a well-equipped computer. It is a heavyweight program and many
of the tools are computationally intensive. It takes up a large space of room on your computer as
well as RAM memory.

Procedure
In this assignment, we need to build a cover pages for our e-portfolio. So we need to follow
several steps to create the background.

1) Click on file, then click new.

For background, we need to adjust the width, height and resolution as below.

Width : 1200 pixels

Height : 240 pixels

Resolution : 72 pixel

Then, the blank layout will appear on the screen.

2) After that, click file, then click open to upload picture. Then the picture will appear on screen.

3) Crop the image. Then, copy image (Ctrl + C) and paste (Ctrl + V).
4) Then, select the another pictures to combine it. We need to follow the previous steps. Crop,
copy and paste.
5) Adjust the opacity of the picture.

6) Next, insert the text in the picture. We need to make sure that the text is clear and contras ease
to read and suitable with the background color.
7) Now, we are done in editing the picture. Save it in PSD format and PNG/JPEJ format. PSD
format is in the form of file that we can edit it. In PNG format we cannot edit it because it is
readily save as a picture.
8) Done with our photo editing .
Conclusion

Photoshop software is a very useful and helpful software in editing picture. Although many
people told that this software only use for professional, but in generally this software is useful for
student and also for teacher in learning process that can make it more interesting. Photoshop
allows users to manipulate, crop, resize and correct the color on digital photos. As a conclusion,
this software is quite hard to handle, but if the beginner follow the step properly, it will be easier
to them to create a picture using this software.
