Academy and Select Seasons

We have two season per year.
Fall - August through Mid-November
Spring - January -through Mid - May

Officially Joining PBFC Travel Programs

Our process is like most clubs. We hold evaluations twice a year, so we can review our current player
pool and invite new members into the club. You register online to attend the tryout/evaluation and then if
you are accepted there will be a email sent to the address provided stating the acceptance. You must
then login to the Blue Sombrero software and accept your spot. To do this, go to the club website, login
and follow the prompts. Once that is complete and you have paid your first agreed to payment, based on
the pay plan you have chosen, the next step will be a team meeting. At that meeting, youll have the
opportunity to ask any questions that may not be fully outlined in this document.
Required Documents
Players must provide the following documents to be considered for a team:

Appropriate Medical Consent Form (all players) A new form must be submitted every year
Copy of Birth Certificate (new players only)
1 inch x 1 inch photo of player
Signed Handbook Acceptance form (at the end of this document)

Determining A Players Age Group

All players are put in a birth year age group. Chart is below
*Players are allowed to play up, but not down, at DOC and Coaches discretion.
Use the following chart to determine a players age group:
Tournaments
Some of the tournaments that our PBFC teams attend are paid out of annual dues. The Director of
Coaching will list approved events. Parents/players will be responsible for their own travel cost of lodging,
gas and food. If the team wishes to attend more tournaments, than the DOC and coach must first approve
it, then the team must pay for the additional tournaments, with the coaches travel fees being evenly
divided between the players. Teams are required to pay entry fee for additional tourneys, long with
coaches travel fees by all players, equally divided.

Fundraising
Teams are allowed and encouraged to do fundraisers or to solicit sponsors to help offset the cost of any
extra events. We welcome your business or other companies to sponsor our teams. We encourage each
team to find $1000-$2000 of sponsorship fund a year to help offset parent funded events.

Guest Players
On occasion your team may invite a guest player to join for a tournament, which is a decision made by
the coach and approved by the DOC. As well as some of our PBFC players will be asked to guest play
with other clubs, which must be approved by coach and DOC. Any and all request must be made with in 2
weeks prior to tournament to allow for administration duties to be fulfilled.

Last Minute Tournaments

Occasionally other clubs will be looking for a team and will call and solicit a team from our club for their
tournament. These will generally be deeply discounted because they need a team to fill out a bracket. We
are open to these offers if the team is available that weekend.

Snap Playdates
Snap Playdates are designed for teams to get exposure playing games against each other in a non
tournament environment. There are many clubs that enroll in these playdates to get their team's games
against other local competition. There are three playdates in each fall and spring season.

Friendlies
We encourage as many friendlies as possible. These will be paid out of pocket and are not included in
dues. Generally the cost is around $5/player, which goes to pay for the referee. Managers will be in
charge of collecting the money and paying the refs. Please be mindful of paying by requested date, as
there are payment deadlines for every tournament that we can not control.

Team Dues
Fee Structure
Dues:
Academy U9-U10: $600 per year (4 local tournaments per year plus 4-6 playdates)
Academy U11-U12: $800 per year (4 local tournaments per year plus 4-6 playdates)
Select U13-14: $1000 per year (6 tournaments per year)
Select U15 and up: $800 per year (6 tournaments per year)

*Teams will be responsible for any coaches travel fees when attending long distant tournament; $25/day
food, $.50/mile fuel, hotel stay.

Registration Fee:
Annual registration is $150 for U11 and older teams and $50 for all U9 and U10 players. This will show as
an installment fee in Blue Sombrero when you register. Pre-Select and Select annual registration is
required even if player only plays one season.
Payment Options for Yearly Dues** -
1) In Full
2) Two Payments (All programs)
3) Quarterly Payments (Select only)
4) Monthly (U11 and up)
Not all age groups allow all pay plans. When paying bi-annually, quarterly or monthly by credit card your
dues will be automatically deducted at the beginning of the month. Blue Sombrero charges a processing
fee of 3.4%. We have no control over this processing fee. We do not accept payment for dues by check.
**Players must be in good financial standing with the club. Dues are due on the first of the month. They
are considered late after the 10th of the month, and could incur a non-refundable $15 late fee
automatically added. If any dues are 15 days or more overdue, the players card will be pulled and player
will not be able to participate in any club activities until account is up to date, including the late fee. If you
ever can not make payment on scheduled time, please make payment arrangements: Please let us know
in email/writing prior to the tenth of the month. If we do not hear from you, you will incur a late fee. We are
willing to work with you, as long as we are aware of your situation!

Any payments for dues or team activities that are returned due to insufficient funds will be subject to a
$30 bank charge. This will be automatically added and charged to your total.
We ask that you do not discuss any financial account information with anyone not listed on your account.
This policy is to protect the privacy of our members regarding privacy of scholarships and financial
agreements.

Injuries and Sickness

Injuries do happen. PBFC will work with you if your player has a season ending injury. An injury form will
need to be filled out (provided by PBFC) and a doctor's note will need to be submitted, stating injury and
restrictions. Upon submitting that information, PBFC will prorate a refund for the remainder of the season.
If your player is sick with fever, please keep them at home to keep the other teammate safe from getting
sick as well.

Uniforms
All uniforms will be purchased online through soccer.com. We are an Under Armour Travel Club and will
have the same uniforms until Spring 2020. Players are expected to wear only approved uniform items on
the field during both the cold and warm seasons. Uniforms must be in good condition at all times, no rips,
stains, or peeling logos. Please contact soccer.com if you feel your uniform may be defective (ie: peeling

Team Manager-Parent Duties

Every team will have a volunteer team manager who will work with the Club Manager. Team and Club
Managers have a variety of duties such as scheduling friendlies, helping to find hotels for tournaments
and communicating with the parent on their team. It is very important that each family communicates their
availability for team activities as soon as possible to their team manager. Last minute attendance changes
can put a heavy burden on the manager, coach and the team.

Volunteer Duties
The success of the select soccer program depends heavily on volunteer assistance. It is important to
stress that volunteering is required by all families especially during the two club tournaments as well as
other events.

Communication
Communication will be sent through email to the coach and manager. Any type of grievance sent via
mass email/text/social media concerning coaches, players, parents or club may result in disciplinary
action.
Managers are allowed to send mass communications and they are only for communicating game times,
directions, etc.

48 Hour Rule
Before approaching PBFC Staff with a grievance, please allow 48 hours from the time it happened, then
please put your complaint in writing. First email your manager, then if that is not resolved, second to club
manager, and if that can't be resolved, it will go to the DOC.

Player/Team Conduct
Managers, players and parents are all representative of PBFC and should set a good, positive example
for the club. Our club is well known in the soccer community within our fives-state area (Florida, Alabama,
Georgia, Mississippi and Louisiana) and we want to be sure to project a positive image with integrity and
high standards. Players and Parents will conduct themselves in accordance with Perdido Bay Futbol
Club, USYSA, USSF, and FIFA rules and code of ethics at all times or will be subject to disciplinary
action.

Perdido Bay FC - CODE OF ETHICS PLAYERS:

~ I will encourage good sportsmanship from fellow players, coaches, officials and parents at all times.
~ I will do the best I can each day, remembering that all players, including me, have talents and
weaknesses.
~ I will treat everyone with respect at all times; regardless of race, sex, creed or abilities and I will expect
to be treated accordingly.
~ I will concentrate on playing soccer, always giving my best effort.
~ I will play by the rules at all times.
~ I will at all times control my temper, resisting the temptation to retaliate.
~ Alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco products and unauthorized prescription drugs shall not be possessed,
consumed or distributed before, while I am a member of this Club or at any time at the field and/or game
complex.

Violations of these ethics may result in sanctions imposed on the offending player/member. These
sanctions may include, but are not limited to: reprimand; suspension from the team and club activities and
facilities; and in extreme cases, expulsion from the club. No refunds, partial or full will be made in the
event a player is suspended or removed from the program. Final say will be at the sole discretion of the
executive committee.

Online Parent Course

One parent from each family will be required to take a online course for their children to participate in any
PBFC academy or select program, every two years. This course help align our club philosophies and
creates a better understanding of how we operate as an organization.

There is NOT a pay for play policy. Our dues guarantee practice with a certified coaches and
developmental training but does not guarantee any set standard for individual playing time during
tournaments. It is the coachs sole decision of who will play and at what position. If you want it, earn it.
You earn playing time through attending practices, working hard with a good attitude, and playing ability.
All children are not created equal, nor do they mature and develop at the same rate. The better players
should play more, this is only right in a competitive program. Since it is a team sport, it should be
continually emphasized that everyone wins or everyone loses as a team. We're all in it together
regardless of who played the most or who scored the goals.

Parents should refrain from talking to the coach during games or during practice, on or off the fields. If a
parent has a concern, the correct chain of communication is to talk to the team manager, club manager or
in writing with the DOC, who will then bring up the issue with the coach or proper person it involves.
Often the coach will encourage parents to come to them with any issues, however this must be done
before or after practice, and never on a game day. Keep in mind there is a 48 hour rule in place for
communicating your complaint. See rule listed above (pg6)

Parents should never attempt to have a discussion over the Internet regarding the coach, club,
player or parent. Emails should only be used to communicate game times, field directions, etc.
Parents must maintain a high level of decorum at all games and tournaments. They should be
reminded that their actions have a direct reflection on the Club.
At least one parent from each family is required to take the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA)
course.
NO ALCOHOL, DRUGS OR TOBACCO PRODUCTS ARE TO BE USED AT THE FIELDS OR
DURING ANY TOURNAMENT OR GAME PLAY AT ANY VENUE.
