RE: Referral to Law Enforcement Based on Complaint Received by Iowa Board of Massage Therapy

Dear County Attorney:

I am the Board Executive for the Iowa Board of Massage Therapy. The Board of Massage Therapy
received a complaint concerning unlicensed practice of massage therapy and possible prostitution. Based
on the complaint, it appears that the illegal activity may have occurred in Linn County.

Pursuant to Iowa Code section 272C.6(4)(a), all complaint files, investigation files, other investigation
reports, and other investigative information in the possession of a licensing board which relates to
licensee discipline are privileged and confidential However, [i]f the investigative information in the
possession of a licensing board or its employees or agents indicates a crime has been committed, the
information shall be reported to the proper law enforcement agency.

Enclosed is a copy of the complaint received by the Board of Massage Therapy.

This letter serves as a report to you as the chief law enforcement officer for Linn County. Please refer this
information to other law enforcement agencies as you deem fit.
