Welcome to Golden West College(GWC). Your application for admission has been processed and you
have been admitted to GWC. Please read through the information below to help you take your next
steps towards your academic success. Save This Email for Future Reference!

Log in to MyGWC <http://mycoast.cccd.edu/>


It's where you will register for classes, check your grades, pay your fees, check your financial aid
status, and more.

Your MyGWC user Name is= arosas20

Access MyGWC by following the steps provided below:


Go to <http://www.MyGWC.com> and
1. Enter your User Name = arosas20
2. Enter your temporary Password=Your date-of-birth in MMDDYY format,
i.e. January 21, 1979 would be entered as 012179
3. You will be asked to create your own password. Follow the instructions
under "password rules" to create your new password.
4. You will be asked to enter an alternate email address which will be used later
if you forget your password.

For help navigating your MyGWC, please download the "MyGWC Reference Guide" from the main
Golden West College website.

Student G-mail Account


Setup your new CCCD Student G-mail account, which will be our official form of communication with
you during the course of your studies at GWC.

Whatever your priority-Get there faster with priority registration

Golden West College utilizes a priority registration system that is in compliance with the California
Education California, Title 5 Code of Regulations for Community Colleges and SB 1456. GWC has
three levels of priority registration. In order to register in the first level priority registration group,
students must meet ALL of the State mandated requirements. See below for more information.

Log in to MyGWC (Student Tab>Priority Registration>View My Eligibility)


In order to be eligible for level 1 priority registration, students must meet ALL priority registration
requirements (Orientation, Assessment Testing, Student Education Plan and Course of Study (major),
prior to registration appointments being assigned. If these requirements are completed after
registration appointments have been assigned then level 1 priority will be assigned for the next

Complete the following steps to qualify for priority registration.

Step 1
ORIENTATION
Complete the online student orientation. Login to MyGWC>Student Tab>Online Orientation>Golden
West College Online Orientation to complete the online orientation. To login to the online orientation,
use your MyGWC user name and password (student ID numbers are not valid for orientation login).

Step 2
ASSESSMENT TESTING
All students must complete math and English placement testing or submit transcripts of prior college
coursework that meet the required prerequisites for math and English. For more information visit the

Step 3
COUNSELING
You need to meet with a counselor to complete a Student Education Plan (SEP), update your Course
of Study (major) and update your education goal. Visit the Counseling Services
<http://goldenwestcollege.edu/counseling/> web page for more information and appointment times.

REGISTRATION APPOINTMENT
Check your MyGWC account to view your appointment date and time (Student tab/Registration
Tools/Registration Status). You have been assigned a registration appointment for the summer and
fall terms. Summer appointments are available for viewing by mid-April and Fall appointment will be
available by mid-June.

PLANNING TOOLS
DEGREE WORKS:
DegreeWorks is the degree audit and progress tracking system for Coast Community Colleges that
provides a more accessible, convenient, and organized way to assess your academic progress. You
may access DegreeWorks through your MyGWC account. For more information, visit the
DegreeWorks Information <http://dwsupport.cccd.edu/SitePages/FAQ.aspx> web page.

TRANSFER COURSE EVALUATION:


Students using prior college coursework to meet Golden West College degree and/or certificate
requirements must send or bring a sealed copy of their official transcripts to the Enrollment Center for
evaluation.

PREREQUISITE CLEARANCE:
If you plan to use coursework from another college to meet enforced prerequisites, you will need to
bring a copy of your college transcripts (Official or Unofficial) with a completed "Prerequisite Clearance
Form" to the Enrollment Center. Submit the form and transcripts at least 10 days prior to your
scheduled registration date for review and processing. For more information and to download a form,

If you are interested in enrolling in other colleges within the Coast Community College District, you
may easily apply to Orange Coast College and Coastline College.

College <http://www.coastline.edu/apply/>. Log in to the application using the same login credentials
used to apply to GoldenWest College. By doing so, you have additional opportunities to enroll in
classes within the Coast District
