Plot Overview
In the 19th century, a virus spread turning people
into zombies and raising the dead. Elizabeth (the
main character) along with her four sisters learned
martial arts and weapon training from their father so
they could fight zombies on their own without the
help of a man. Elizabeth meets Mr. Darcy and Mr.
Bingley at a local ball that her mother sent her and
her sisters to. Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy bump heads
because Elizabeth doesnt like the way he acts.
Wickham and Elizabeth become semi close later
one and he tells her lies about Mr. Darcy so she will
hate him. Elizabeth believes him because of how
Mr. Darcy acts and the atmosphere that he creates.
She vows to kill him for what he did to her sister,
Jane Bennet and George Wickham. When Darcy
comes back into town he proposes to her, but that
leads to them yelling and then getting into a
physical fight with each other were Mr. Darcy gets
injured. He gets away from her and they dont see
each other for a while after that. Later on Mr. Darcy
wrote a letter to Elizabeth telling her the truth about
what happened and why he had to leave and the
true about the lie George Wickham told Elizabeth.
They bump into each other while killing zombies
and she feels bad for the way that she treated Mr.
Darcy when he proposed to her and wants to marry
him now that she knows the truth, but his aunt
wants him to marry his cousin because his aunt
thinks that his cousin would be a better fit than
Elizabeth so they battle to the death. Of course
Elizabeth Bennet won, but instead of killing his
cousin she left Mr. Darcys cousin alive. Mr. Darcy
was very taken by what Elizabeth did for him and
they got married to one another.
About the Author Pride
Original Author, Jane Austen, was born December
and
16, 1775 at Steventon, Hampshire, England. She
was a Georgian era author best known for Sense Prejudice
and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, and Emma.
Janes name was not published onto any of her and
books in her lifetime. The name that was on her
books were, A Lady. She dies at the age of 41
from an illness. During her time the French
Zombies
revolution was going on and Napoleon rose to
power. In the time that she lived in reading was very
popular that influenced her to write because she
wanted people to read her work.
Jane Austen
and
Seth Grahame-Smith, the parody author, rewrote
the book in 2009. He was born on January 4. 1976 Seth Grahame-Smith
in Rockville Centre, New York, USA. Another one of
his best sellers is Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.
His wife is Erin Stickle and their children are Joshua
Grahame-Smith and Jacob Grahame-Smith. Jason Kalista Head
Rekulak, Quirk Books editor, created the idea for
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. He was going to April 26, 2017
write it, but turned it over to Seth to write. They
wanted popular fanboy characters to be in it such
as ninjas, monkeys, pirates and zombies.

Elizabeth Bennet, the protagonist- She is the
second daughter and is able to read well and she is
also quick witted. At times is goes against her and
caused situations that could have been stopped.
Themes
Love is one of the main leading themes of this story
both romantic and familial and another main theme
would be action. People in the story are repeatedly
fighting off zombies or each other. Other ones are
reputation and class because in the time period that
the book revolves around a womans reputation in
one of the most important things and class is shown
by the strict life for middle and high class people in
England.
Motifs and Symbols
Courtship is one of the motifs shown in the book.
Each courtship represents a different type of love. It
become a signature for each character. The other
motifs in the book are the journeys that the
characters take. Each journey that one of the main
characters take in the story are important.
Something happens during their trip that is
significant to their lives.

Fitzwilliam Darcy- He is the nephew of Lady

Catherine de Bourgh and is wealthy. He is
intelligent, honest and prideful which tend to make
make look down on others.

Charles Bingley- Darcys best friend; that is wealthy

as well. He is friendly, a gentleman and doesnt care
about class differences. His personality contrasts
with his best friend which helps the atmosphere.

Mr. Bennet- A man with good income for his five

daughters. He is sarcastic and his humor tends to
annoy his wife.

Mrs. Bennet- A foolish and noisy woman who only

seems to care about marrying her daughters off.
She often scares off the suitors that she brings to
marry her daughters because of her own behavior.
