MSTP

MSTP is the multi-service transport platform based on SDH. It inherits SDHs protection,
recovery and OAM abilities, supporting PDH, SDH, Ethernet, ATM service etc. and forming an
optimum multi-service transport solution.

OSN 9500
The OptiX OSN 9500 is a 10 Gbit/s OCS intelligent optical transmission system applied to
national and provincial backbone networks or backbone nodes on the core layer of the
metropolitan area networks (MANs).

Based on all the features of MSTP, the OptiX OSN 9500 is compatible with traditional SDH and
MSTP networks. The enhanced service adaptation capability fits the equipment into future
networks that primarily provide data services, and especially optimized transmission of Ethernet
services. In addition, an ASON control plane is added to improve the manageability, reliability,
and maintainability of the equipment and networks. The OptiX OSN 9500 provides a complete
solution to upgrade the existing SDH or MSTP equipment to ASON intelligent optical equipment,
helping operators lower their CAPEX and OPEX in the intensified competition.

OSN 3500 II
The OSN 3500 II works at the 10 Gbit/s or 2.5 Gbit/s level, inherits all features of the MSTP technology,

Ethernet, WDM, ATM, IMA, and RPR, ESCON, FICON, FC and DVB-ASI (Digital Video Broadcast-
Asynchronous Serial Interface) .
OSN 3500 II can realize smooth evolution to ASON. It is used in aggregation layer & access layer, and its
service board is compatible with OSN 9560/7500II/7500/3500/2500/1500. OSN 3500 II support intelligent
features, automatic end-to-end service configuration, SLA, traffic engineering, timeslot defragmentation,
MESH clock synchronization etc. to enhance network utilization.

OSN 2500
The OSN 2500 works at the 2.5Gbit/s or 622Mbit/s level, inherits all features of the
MSTP technology, keeps compatible with traditional SDH and MSTP networks, and
integrates the SDH, PDH, DDN, Ethernet, WDM, ATM, IMA, and RPR, ESCON, FICON,
FC and DVB-ASI (Digital Video Broadcast-Asynchronous Serial Interface) .

OSN 2500 is used in aggregation layer & access layer, and its service board is
compatible with OSN 9560/7500II/7500/3500/2500/1500. OSN 2500 supports
intelligent features, automatic end-to-end service configuration, SLA, traffic
engineering, timeslot defragmentation, MESH clock synchronization etc. to enhance
network utilization.

OSN 7500 II
The OptiX OSN 7500 II is a next-generation intelligent optical core switching (OCS) equipment
developed with the trend of metropolitan area network (MAN).

The OptiX OSN 7500 II is based on universal switch architecture. That is, the OptiX OSN 7500 II
can be used in packet mode (MPLS/MPLS-TP based) or in TDM mode. When used with the
other equipment of Huawei, the OptiX OSN 7500 II supports various networking applications,
such as the pure packet domain application, hybrid networking application (overlay networking of
the packet domain and TDM domain), and pure TDM domain application. By using a proper
networking solution, the data service and conventional SDH service can be processed in the
optimal manner.

In TDM mode, the OptiX OSN 7500 II supports large cross-connect capacities, that is, 360 Gbit/s
higher order cross-connections and 40 Gbit/s lower order cross-connections. In packet mode, the
OptiX OSN 7500 II supports 320 Gbit/s packet switching capabilities.

BWS 1600G
The OptiX BWS 1600G DWDM system is a large-capacity multi-service and multi-
reach transmission DWDM equipment. The OptiX BWS 1600G can easily upgrade
from 40 wavelengths to 80 wavelengths, 120 wavelengths, and up to 160
wavelengths. The extended C band technology can also be used to expand the
capacity by 20% to 192 wavelengths.

The OptiX BWS 1600G, as the backbone DWDM optical transmission system,
provides 80/40 wavelengths x 40G transmission solution. By connecting to the
existing 40G OTU, the OptiX BWS 1600G can satisfy operators requirements on
capacity expansion and high performance optical network. It had been applied to
many national backbones and inter-city backbone transmission networks.

Ultra Long Haul Transmission

The Ultra Long Haul (ULH) incorporates certain technologies such as SuperWDM+, realizing 10G

OSN 8800
The OptiX OSN 8800 is mainly deployed on national backbone networks, regional/provincial
backbones, and some metro core sites. In addition to large capacities and long-haul WDM
features, the OptiX OSN 8800 integrates:

OSN6800&3800
In addition to service convergence, transmission, and cross-connection, the OptiX OSN 6800/3800
supports Layer 2 dynamic traffic diversion (optical cross-connection and ODU cross-connection) and
integrates the ASON/GMPLS control plane. The product features the large capacity and long distance
transmission of WDM systems. With advanced technologies, such as ROADMs, wavelength tunable
optical modules, ASON/GMPLS, and 40G/100G, the OptiX OSN 6800/3800 is flexible in architecture.

Transparent access: The OptiX OSN 6800/3800 employs the ITU-T digital wrapper protocol that allows
transparent access of various protocols, such as IP/Ethernet, ATM, SDH, and ESCON, and services at

ASON: Traditional WDM networks were statically configured by maintenance engineers on the NMS.
Manual intervention is still needed to satisfy certain requests, such as connection set-up or tear-down,
which results in a long response time. The ASON allows for automatic establishment/release of switching
and connections to achieve quick service provisioning.
The OptiX OSN 6800/3800 supports 2M, 1588v2, and synchronous Ethernet clocks, meeting the clock
precision requirements of WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, CDMA2000, and LTE/LTE-A.

OSN1800
The OptiX OSN 1800 integrates both OTN and WDM features and uniformly transmits various
services at the metro network edge, such as broadband, leased line, and mobile services. The
OptiX OSN 1800 supports unified transmission of multiple services ranging from 100 Mbit/s to 10
Gbit/s, unified switching of OTN/PKT/SDH services, and automatic commissioning at the optical
layer. In this way, the OptiX OSN 1800 flattens networks, reduces network deployment and O&M
