Ms. Rosy Alvarado

Second Grade ELL Teacher

SABIS International School

1903 E. Roeser Rd. Phoenix, AZ 85040

Dear Ms. Alvarado,

According to the information, I have found on Arizona Education Employment

Board, your description matches with my interest, and I am willing to express my
enthusiasm for this position.

After the completion of Bachelor of Arts in Education at Arizona State University

as well as perusing Certificate of Teaching English to Speakers of Other
Languages as myself is bilingual, I chose to work this field to help students who
need as I needed when I was younger.

Based on your description of ideal candidate I also can offer:

Ability to build close teacher-and-students relationship with students

individually to help not only their English but also their cultural shocks
Records of what I have done to help students from other countries as a
volunteer works

Because I will be certified to teach English to the students who speak other
languages as their mother tongue, I looked for my job on Arizona Education
Employment Board. It is important for every student to have some access at a
school where they can speak and ask questions about cultural differences and
share the hardship of studying in their second language. I will graduate Arizona
State University in May 2020 with a B.A.E. degree in Educational Studies as well
as receive TESOL certificate. In many courses that I have taken, they taught me
how learning languages work in young children. In addition, working at Arizona
State University Global Launch, I have gotten to help those students who came
from other countries to study abroad in the United States. These experiences will
help SABIS International School because there are some things that regular U.S.
born and raised with no study abroad experience teachers cannot understand
that immigrated students feeling and struggle.
You state that Bachelor degree in a related subject matter and/or equivalent and
proficient in English, know Office applications, communication skills and ability
to work within a group. As I mentioned above, I will receive the degree in May
and I have pursued education in the United States total seven years (but I can
take English proficiency exam if you so desire). I have experiences with MS
Office applications for a while. I believe I am a good communication skills and
ability to work as a team. Throughout middle school and high school, I was in
marching band as a color guard, and this required high communication skills as
well as work as a team.

School is very important part of a student life, and I would like to discuss how
we, as a team, can help students together. I will be contacting your office next
week, but if you need to contact me, please call me at (206)397-5663 or email me
at eyamamot@asu.edu. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you for
your time.

Sincerely,

Eri Yamamoto
