At Just the Right Time

Contrary to our current perception here in
the Midwest, God’s arranging of circumstances
and events is perfect, even when we can’t see
it. Believers in the early church relied heavily
on this as they lived out their faith. In the New
Testament book of Acts, an exciting adventure
demonstrates this. Philip, a follower of Jesus, was
run out of town, but continued to share the story
of Jesus with great influence. In the midst of this
exciting and successful ministry, God sent an angel to call Philip
in an entirely different direction with a completely new game plan.

kingdom, through their ministry with Mission Aviation
Fellowship. In his position as Director of Maintenance, Dan
is responsible for the hands-on maintenance instruction of the
students at Moody Aviation in Spokane, Washington. Dan
grew up here at First Federated Church and is the son of Bill
and Linda Appleby. We will have two opportunities for you
to hear their presentation and eat: 10:45AM and 12:00PM.

Philip was led to a foreign
official who—and this
was no coincidence—was
reading the Bible. Philip,
accomplished at sharing his
faith, explained the story of
Jesus to the man. Then at
just the right time—God’s
time—they came to some water and the official was baptized
as a public proclamation of his trust in Jesus for eternal life. In
the same way, the baptisms you witness this morning as part of
your worship experience are a public testimony of the personal
relationship these individuals have with Jesus.
Being baptized is a commandment of God and a step of obedi-
ence on the part of those who are baptized. As we read in the
account of Philip, God put the pieces together in His way and His
time. For Philip and the official, the water was there when it was
needed…at just the right time…God’s time. For the others today,
it is the right time for them.
As you participate in worship this morning, you will be
challenged to follow God’s timing. You will be urged to be ready
for God when He moves, whether immediately, as in the case of
Philip and the official, or at a specific point God chooses in the
future. What is important to remember is that God will bring all
of the necessary circumstances together in His time… at just the
right time.

If your child has not already been enrolled in our Children’s
Ministry, a quick visit to the Children’s Ministry Registration
Station will provide you with temporary security tags and give us
the information we need to effectively minister to your child.
Infants & Preschool Children
Childcare and teaching are available during the 9:15 hour and 10:45 worship service in
the Nursery and Preschool Departments.
Kindergarten–4th Grade
During the 9:15 hour, K–4th graders meet in graded classroom groups for Bible
learning and fun.
K–2nd graders attend the first part of the 10:45 worship service with their families
and then are dismissed through the large black doors at the front of the auditorium
to attend their own age-appropriate children’s church, called KZ Church. Parents, we
encourage you to go with your children the first time they visit KZ Church.
3rd & 4th graders attend the worship service to listen and learn with their families.
Xtreme AM (5th & 6th Grade)
Our preteens meet in their own Xtreme spot, Room 205, at 9:15 for a time of Xtreme
learning, Xtreme prayer and Xtreme relationship-building, then join their families for
the 10:45 worship service.
Youth (Grade 7–12) & Adults
Groups for ADULTS and activities for YOUTH begin at 9:15AM. Stop by
the Welcome Center to find out about each of the groups and how to get there.
Cellular Phones & Pagers
Thank you for turning off, or muting, your cell phone, pager and other electronic
devices during this morning’s worship service.
Assistive Listening Devices
ALS devices are available for check-out at the Resource Center in the foyer.
AED (Automated External Defibrillator)/First-aid
Facilities for guests needing first aid, health counseling, and blood
pressure checks are provided by our Parish Nurses located in the west
hallway in Room 1117, Sundays, 10:30AM–Noon.

What do they do? The government of the country where Dave
and Pam served for 14 years asked them to leave. Now living
in the States, they are helping refugee families settle in their
area and have weekly worship and teaching meetings for
them. Dave leads the work overseas and travels to visit the
team, church leaders, and participates in ministry projects.
Christians there face intense intimidation and threats of
death.
Prayer Requests:
• For daughter Rachel and her new husband Joshua as they
lead a Missionary Kids conference in August and join
YWAM for a 6 month training course.
• For son Justin as he attends the MK conference in August
and joins the new OM ship Logos Hope.
• For Dave and Pam, currently in a staff conference in Europe,
planning to speak in Brazil in July.
• For the church to be mobilized; for more workers.
• For imprisoned believers overseas.
Closed Country
What do they do? Alan & Helena are pioneering a work that
seeks to reach people from the country’s many thousands of
villages and towns. As both are full time language students,
their contacts are made through the university where over
19,000 students are from rural settings. They are both teach-
ing English in a local language institute, providing them with
opportunities to meet people. Their work is very sensitive
due to the political and religious situation.
Prayer Requests:
• Pray that outside the classroom, relationships will develop so
they can share Christ.
• For wisdom in sharing in a relevant way.
• How to encourage Muslim background believers who are se-
cretive to avoid being ostracized, persecuted and in financial
trouble.
• For more laborers.
• For residency papers allowing them to stay long term.
• For sufficient income—public transportation increased
100% in May; diesel fuel by 250%.

Children’s ministry is also conducting two Backyard Bible Clubs
and could use teens to help serve at any either club events. Dates
are July 29–31, Aug 11–13. Sign up in the Backdoor or see
