Descrierea disciplinei

Arta contemporan se refer la producia artistic ncepnd din anii 1960 i pn azi, fiind
caracterizat de o ruptur fa de tradiiile Moderniste, multe lucrri renunnd chiar la mediile
artistice uzuale n favoarea unei abordri mai efemere sau colaborative, iar rezultatele sunt uneori
ndeprtate de o preocupare pur estetic. Arta contemporan nu trebuie vzut ca o niruire de
stiluri artistice ci ca o serie de chestionri culturale, sociale i politice care vor fi examinate n
cadrul contextele lor istorice pe parcursul acestor uniti. Temele alese vor aborda strategii
artistice variate, astfel nct la finalul cursului studenii vor putea identifica nu doar artiti i
opere relevante ci vor i putea interpreta cele mai importante aspecte ale artei contemporane n
direct legtur cu contextul social al acestora.

Cursul se bazeaz cu precdere pe expunerea unui material vizual bogat din banca de imagini a
catedrei de Istoria artei.
