Parents’ Info Update

Dear Parents:

We thank you for continuing to be vigilant and cooperate with us to keep our
children safe and healthy. The Ministry of Community Development, Youth and
Sports still raise the alert on the outbreak of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease
(HFMD) within the child care centers / preschools in Singapore.

Please keep up with the good hygiene practices at home and your support to us
at providing a clean and safe child care environment for each and every child in
our school!

Enrolment :
Glücklich Schoolhouse is very pleased to have Hayden (Toddlers -
Rabbit), Jadon (Nursery 1 - Koala), Savannah, Zhan Peng (Kindergarten 1 –
Elephant) who joined us in June 2010. We wish that they spend the
best of their time here with us.

Glucklich Treffen - Annual Parents-Teachers’ Meeting:

1st PTM 2010 – 25 to 27 May 2010:
We are proud to announce that the last Treffen (also known as Parents-
Teachers’ Meeting) held from Tuesday, 25 June through Thursday, 27
June 2010 went smoothly. We have had almost perfect attendance.

We are also grateful for your appreciation towards our given care,
activities (curriculum) we have installed, for your child/children during
the past months.

K2 to P1 Integration and Support Programmes:

Special Trips – Movie Treat and PIXAR exhibition:
We have kick started our plan for P1 Integration and Support
Programmes for our Kindergarten 2 children (Elephant) on Tuesday, 1
June 2010. As mentioned during the “mass” PTM on Thursday, 27 May

2010, Glücklich Schoolhouse will implement more structured activities
over the next six (6) months to achieve its objectives.

Field Trips:
K2 Special Outing 1– Thursday, 17 June 2010
This special outing is only applicable for the K2 children. We believe the
children deserve a little fun break with each other, during the school
holidays or Term Break. We plan to have a “hands-on” activity during this
special outing on Thursday, 17 June 2010. The children will be encouraged
to buy their own lunch during the outing.

We will then watch the movie “Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang” (2010) at
Golden Village Cinema (Yishun). We will take the public transport there
(bus 169) and appreciate you provide your child (who are above 0.9m) with
the appropriate EZ-link card. We plan to leave at 11.45 am and be back to
school by 4.30 pm that day.

K2 Special Outing 2 – Tuesday, 22 June 2010

The second special outing will take the K2 children to Singapore Science
Centre. We plan to visit the “PIXAR 20 years of Animation” Singapore’s
exhibition. We will leave school at 11.30 am and expect to be back at 4.30
pm. Once again, we will encourage the children to learn to be independent
during the outing.

Singapore Garden Festival 2010 – Thursday, 15 July 2010

The National Parks Board is organizing the Singapore Garden Festival in
July 2010. We want to seize the opportunity to let our children
experience the excitement and delight of the colourful and creative
gardens on show. Best of all, it will be held indoors!

This outing is appropriate with the new theme - Plants and Flowers which
the children will be learning when the new Term 3 starts on Monday, 28
June 2010. We welcome parents to join us during the outing as well, as
the Festival / garden shows are yet another great family outing with a
difference.

Singapore Family Pledge Movement
Glücklich Schoolhouse has been invited to encourage our children
/parents to make a personal commitment to their families as part of the
Singapore Family Pledge Movement organized by the National Family
Council.

We encourage you to take part in the national pledge. You may make the
“pledge writing card” a family bonding time as you / get your child to draw
(if they have yet to write independently). Please let us have the pledged
card soonest possible this week (by 17 June 2010).

Please be reminded that our school is closed on Friday, 18 June 2010

(closure in lieu for MCYS’ Approved Closure Day scheduled for Friday, 4
June 2010).

in school by 4.30pm) – inclusive lunch and movie “Nanny McPhee and the
Big Bang (2010)”. We enclose our payment of $10 – please provide EZlink card for
your child.

APPLICABLE TO K2 ONLY: Special Trip to Singapore Science Centre on

Tuesday, 22 June 2010 between 11.00am to 4.00pm (back in school by
4.00pm) – inclusive lunch and entry to “20 years of Animation Pixar
Singapore” exhibition. We enclose our payment of $28 – transport will be
provided.

Visit to Singapore Garden Festival 2010 on Thursday, 15 July 2010

between 9.45am to 3.00pm (back in school by 4.00pm). We enclose our
payment of $16 for Full-Day program and $26 for Half-Day program. Parents are
welcome to join - $6 per person only.
