The Battle of Grendel

The biggest battle was held in Herot, where Grendel was finally defeated by the Geatish

warrior Beowulf who saved the Danes from this terrorific monster from killing the citizens of

this town. Beowulf and his warriors were coming to the Danes land to help defeat this monster.

Grendel is known for being evil is sneaking into mead-hall and killing many people. The best

Grendel lives alone in the dark, cold cave. He was the loneliest creature on Earth. His life was

cursed since he was born. Because of his sins he was punished by God. One day he was trying to

sleep at night, like every other day. Suddenly, he heard noises that were coming from the mead-

hall. All he knew is that they were not going to stop. So, he got very angry. He went to Herot to

stop this nonsense.

Since he hears the Danes loudly celebrating in Herot, it drives him crazy with rage and

envy. Therefore, he slaughters the Danes in order to stop with these celebrations. They were

drinking and dancing, it made him even more furious. His beast went out of control and started

killing people. He wanted to feel the joy they were feeling. He shut down the happiest place of

this town. Grendel killed around 30 people that night except Hrothgar. He was protected by God

and he couldnt touch his throne either. Since then, the monster has killed a lot of people. The

Danes were running away from Herot because they were scared of such beast. Grendel did this

for 12 years because he blamed the innocent people for the monstrous beast he has become.

One of the Geatish warriors came to save the Danes, bringing with him 14 of his men. He

was called by Hrothgar to help them destroyed Grendel. As Grendel approached to the mead-hall
once again, he threw the door away and all he saw were sleeping men. He couldnt contain

himself and pulled one of the men and killed them. Suddenly he was also pulled from his arm.

He also tried to fight with this man who showed courage and braveness. He was so short but with

a lot of strength. He went back to his den but fatally wounded. He left his arm and Beowulf had

won the battle Grendel tries to run away but he couldnt because his arm was trapped by

Beowulf.

Hrothgar is the king of the Danes when Beowulf arrives in their land, ready to fight the

demon Grendel. Many years earlier, Hrothgar paid money to resolve a feud they had with

Ecgtheow, Beowulfs father. As a result, Beowulf feels some loyalty toward Hrothgar. (735-

740) He was one of the strongest warriors of the geats. I haveheard that Beowulf fought other

monsters and he would be able to defeat this monster, said one of the kings thanes. Beowulf

bragged that he is stronger than anyone else and he could kill Grendel with his bare hands. No

weapon was capable of killing Grendel therefore Beowulf used his hands to fight him.

Many of the geats were in the middle of the battle and they said that Grendel and

Beowulf crashed around the hall, rattling the walls and smashing the mead-benches. All of them

got scared when this happen because they could hear how the monster was suffering. During the

fight, Beowulf was described as the strongest man ever. The captain of evil discovered himself

in a hand grip harder than anything he had ever encountered in any man on the face of the

earth.(749-752) Beowulf held up Grendels arm as a sign of triumph.

The Danes celebrated the victory and Beowulf got more fame. Ultimately, the Danes

were very happy that Grendel died. The King of the Danes, Hrothgar was thankful with Beowulf

because of the job well done and how brave he was to kill this monster. He was well rewarded by
the King because he deserved it. There was nobody as courageous as Beowulf. Beowulf and

Grendel both displayed great strength and endurance as they battled to death. Grendel feared for.

his life so this was an advantage for Beowulf to win this battle, said Sarah who was able to see

how this warrior fight against this monster.
