Methodology

This study aims to measure the power converted by the Peltier module and the
temperature of the water outflow, and the efficiency of the system in re-using the heat
that otherwise would have been lost. In order to gather these data, the researchers
have formulated the following procedures:

1. The cooling system design, water block, is constructed by the researchers.

2. The aluminum plate is placed beside the stove and is insulated with
ceramic tiles.
3. The peltier module is placed on top of the exposed part of the aluminum
plate.
4. The water block is placed on top of the peltier module and is secured to the
stand.
5. The water hoses are inserted to the barbs of the water block and are
checked for leaking.
6. The water faucet is then opened at a controlled volume flow rate (half,
full).
7. The pyrometers are stationed according to figure (INSERT FIGURE) and
are activated for measuring.
8. An initial measurement of the temperatures of the surfaces are gathered.
9. The stove is then used for cooking (HOW MANY KILOS) of white rice.
10. After one minute from the start of cooking, the temperatures of the
surfaces are measured, and are measured for every succeeding minute.
11. Synchronized with the measurement of temperature, the current and
voltage production of the peltier module are also measured by a Voltmeter.
12. After 30 minutes, or until the white rice is finished cooking, the stove is
turned off.
13. Minutely measurement of the temperatures of the surfaces and the
voltmeter are continued until they return to initial values.
14. Using the temperatures of the surfaces, heat transfer from the stove to the
water outflow is then computed with the help of Microsoft Excel.
15. The efficiency of the system is then computed using the values obtained
from the experiment.
16. The data gathered from the experiment is then presented in charts, graphs,
and tables.
