PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
VAR: The vertical air-release tank has a tangential straight-through Vent Line To Vapor
Recovery
design. The inlet of the VAR tank is located in the upper quartile;
the outlet is located on the opposite side of the tank in the lower
quartile. As fluid enters the inlet, the product is forced to swirl Air/Gas
downward. This centrifugal operation forces the liquid outward
to the interior wall of the vessel and downward while any air Inlet
(Tangential)
or gas present is forced to the center of the vessel and upward.
Liquid
This process effectively separates the air or gas from the liquid.
The air or gas is then vented via the air-release head to a
safe environment.

AR: The AR air eliminator is a horizontal pressure vessel with

flanged end connections. This design allows the AR eliminator to Outlet
reduce fluid-line velocity, causing vapor bubbles to rise to the top (Tangential)

of the vessel where they are then vented through the air-release
head to a safe environment.
