MV substation remote monitoring unit
Everywhere in the world, poor quality of electric power supply is no longer accepted
PE57572
For Power Supply Companies, the increase in quality of service must go hand-in-hand
with an improvement in performance and competitiveness and control of capital
expenditure.
For an optimum response to these needs, power distribution companies are demanding
new products and solutions to allow:
b Improved reliability:
v reduction in the duration of power cuts in the event of incidents on the network (SAIDI)
v reduction in the number of faults: e.g. through monitoring of MV/LV transformers
v monitoring and improvement in the quality of power: performance tools for fault
analysis.
b Reduction in direct and indirect operation costs:
v reduction in response times in the event of incidents
v reduction in substation inspection campaigns for maintenance and measurement
campaigns
v reduction in service operations upon equipment failure through remote monitoring:
preventive alarm, overloading of network or equipment (transformer)
v vehicule charge (fuel consumption). It will allow you to participate in the reduction
of CO2 emissions.
b Improvement in the efficiency of power distribution:
v quality control of distributed voltage: measurement, alarms and traceability
v optimization of the network operating plan based on exhaustive data concerning
the network load.
b Capital expenditure optimisation:
v have precise, reliable data to define changes and investment planning concerning
the MV network load, transformer outgoer or LV outgoer
v safeguard network equipment through preventive actions.
Easergy products and solutions meet these objectives by providing you with reliable,
maintenance-free equipment that is easy to operate.
Schneider Electric is constantly looking for new solutions to simplify the operation
of MV networks.

Flair 200C Description
The Flair 200C is an efficient tool for A product dedicated to remote monitoring of MV substations
reducing repair and fault finding times. with a high level of function integration
It improves quality of service and
operation for power supply companies. Easergy Flair 200C is a remote monitoring unit designed to be installed in the MV
substations of a public-private distribution network or in customers substations.
Easergy Flair 200C is a tool that complements control units for MV substations
(Easergy T200 I) and conventional fault passage indicators (Easergy Flair).

Digital inputs/outputs for substation monitoring and control
6 configurable digital inputs:
b Standard input: goes to 1 when the digital input is active
MV/LV transformer b FPI input: goes to 1 when the digital input is active and causes the external
indicator to flash.
Example of substation monitoring point:
Each digital input has its associated counter.
b Transformer protection: TGPT2

b Dual output: 2 outputs are used. This choice offers a simple solution for controlling
certain switches by means of double-bit commands.

Flair 200C Digital control and monitoring
of substation
Easergy Flair 200C offers various possibilities for time setting, polling and time
stamping of changes of state depending on the external devices:
v Sepam type slave, Wade range, Easergy range
These slaves manage event time stamping and their clocks can be synchronized
by Easergy Flair 200C.
The events with their associated dates are read by Easergy Flair 200C every second.
v Other slaves
For slaves not managing event time stamping, the analogue or digital data are read
and then generated as time-stamped events by the Flair 200C.

Protocol Modbus / Modbus TCP Master
Number of slaves 31 in an RS485 link / 20 in an Ethernet link
Maximum number of variables b Digital Inputs/Outputs: 400
b Double-bit digital Inputs/Outputs: 200
b Analog Inputs/Outputs: 300

Flair 200C Communication
Easergy Flair 200C can manage both a serial type protocol and IP protocols.
Example: IEC 870-5-101 and IEC 870-5-104.
It is thus possible to mix serial and IP transmission media on a given application.
Two versions or two different protocols are embedded (e.g. IEC 101/104 and DNP3),
SCADA thereby allowing switch over the other protocol in total security.

or energy counters
Command sending is secured (selection and confirmation)
b Consultation of archived data with saving to PC in CSV file form for analysis.
The views are refreshed regularly or automatically upon a change of state.
Easier maintenance
b Updating of software versions or change of protocol by downloading from a PC.
Two software versions are saved.
It is possible to switch between the two versions.
b Analysis of system Event Log file:
v storage of transmission events (to determine the origin of a recurring
communication fault)
v indication of transmission errors (CRC error, collisions, PSTN line out of order,
