Introduction
Singlephaseequivalentlinemodels(orpositivesequenceline
models)canbeusedquiteaccuratelyinthreephasesystemswhenthe
systemisbalancedandthelinesareperfectlytransposed.However,
whenunbalancedsystemsoruntransposedlinesarebeingstudied,
thesemodelsbreakdownandafullthreephasemulticonductormodel
isnecessary.
Considerthethreephase,singlecircuittowerlineinFigure1,which
showsthreephaseconductorsandanearthwire.Asegmentallengthof
thismulticonductorsystemcanberepresentedbytheequivalent
circuitinFigure2below:
