Sarah Burlinga me Sanipac Tour

May brings the warmth of late spring and a busy time for MOMS Club as
we prepare for the upcoming transition to a new leadership board. The
board still has two executive positions open, so please volunteer or talk
with a board member for more information.
Last week we said goodbye to our Membership Vice President, Lara
Wheeler. We wish her the best of luck with her move back to her home
state of Indiana! We are glad to welcome Christy Drake to the board as
our new Membership V.P.
In April, MOMS Club of Eugene got to visit Sanipac and take a tour of
their facilities. The kids got to sit in a dump truck and pull the horn.
Then we all had to put on reflective vests and glasses to tour the
maintenance garage and see the Duck Truck. The Duck Truck has been
modified and has a big screen TV, BBQ and fridge inside! The kids got to
step inside the dark truck and glow with their vest on. The Duck Truck is
at all of the Duck Football games and their tailgate party is open to
anyone. Before we left, each kid was given their own mini Sanipac
garbage can. The garbage cans were a big hit!

I want to extend a huge thank you to all of the moms who came to Tia Merwin
events in April- nature walks, a fire station tour, and an easter egg hunt-

beginning a new year with MOMS club, lets keep coming together and
supporting each other. Us moms have a tough job, and there is nothing
like the camaradiere found in a community of moms to brighten the day.

the Member Social on Thursday to catch up, talk about club business,

 Firestation Tour April 2017

Members of MOMS Club of Eugene had a great time touring the Santa
Clara Fire Station in April. They got to see a fire engine up close and
meet some real firefighters. Thank you to everyone who came out and a
huge thank you to Crystal for organizing this fun event!

This month we will help our children complete a cute survey about us
and will record their (sometimes surprising) answers.

other during times of family additions, upheaval, and stress. This is not
just limited to having a baby, things like moving or illness in the family
also warrant a need for this program. Our Helping Hands program
provides moms with assistance, usually giving several meals in a time of
need. However, this program can provide more than just meals. We
can arrange assistance with child-care, running errands, even a phone
tree! We want all of our members to benefit from this program in a time
of need and we are more than willing to customize an
assistance schedule that works well for each situation. Please let us know
if a circumstance should arise in your life and you feel this program

Easter Egg Hunt
Kids and moms enjoyed our annual indoor Easter Egg Hunt at Solvang
Retirement Center. Residents of the retirement center love to see the
kids and help the younger ones find eggs. Children brought their own
baskets to collect eggs and shared some joy with some of the older
members of our community.

She'll want a cup of coffee to go with it.
She'll pour herself some.
Her three-year-old will spill the coffee.
She'll wipe it up.
Wiping the floor, she'll find dirty socks.
She'll remember she has to do laundry.
When she puts the laundry in the washer,
She'll trip over boots and bump into the freezer. Bumping into the
freezer will remind her
she has to plan for supper.
She will get out a pound of hamburger.

She'll look for her cookbook
("101 Things to do with a Pound of Hamburger"). The cookbook is sitting
under a pile of mail.
She will see the phone bill, which is due tomorrow. She will look for her
checkbook.
The check book is in her purse
that is being dumped out by her two-year-old. She'll smell something
funny.
She'll change the two-year-old's diaper.
While she is changing the diaper, the phone will ring. Her five-year-old
will answer and hang up.
She'll remember she wants to phone a friend for coffee. Thinking of
coffee will remind her
that she was going to have a cup.
And chances are... If she has a cup of coffee,
Her kids will have eaten the muffin that went with it.

Now that we the sun is starting to peek through the clouds, make the
most of those windows of warm weather by getting outside. Teach color
recognition and help your toddler burn some energy with this Toddler

Spend some time picking flowers with the littles to make this
beautiful Sun Catcher. (http://handsonaswegrow.com/craft-for-

flowers before making them, collect fresh flowers in the morning and lay
flat on a paper towel and place between the pages of a book for a day or
two. Try not to squish the flowers with anything heavy. Pressed flowers
can be used to make bookmarks, cards, or decorate candles.

Delta Ponds Nature Walk

Here are a few photos from our nature walk at Delta Ponds. We enjoyed a
warm spring day and even caught sight of a turtle. Thank you to
everyone who came out. Lets do some more hikes this summer!
