Full Semester Reflection

Throughout this semester, I have learned a lot from how to write poetry to more V.A.

words. I have also struggled but throughout this semester, I have enjoyed my learning. I will

start with the first semester. In the first semester, we read our memoirs and do the project. In

this first semester, I learned how to analyze for bias and how to read memoirs. I also learned

how to make a script and how to make a collaborative essay which will help me later in life. This

is what I have learned in the first unit.

In the second unit, I have also learned a lot. In this unit we read, analyzed, and write

poetry. First, I learned how to read poetry and use TPFASTT. This will be important in other

English classes for analyzing poetry. Ive also gotten better at using similes and metaphors in

poetry. I figured out when to use them in my writing and how to phrase them. I also figured how

to read poetry and understand the metaphors in it. This is what I have done in the second

semester.

In the third unit, we read the odyssey and did our podcast. I learned a lot about myths

and the definition of one. I also learned about what makes an epic hero. These things will help

me analyze other myths in later classes. I also learned how to make a script for a podcast which

was interesting and fun. This is what I have learned in the third unit of this semester.

Last in the fourth unit, we read Romeo and Juliet and worked on our project. I learned a

lot about Shakespeare and a lot about medieval English and how to understand it. It will make

reading Shakespeare in the future a lot more interesting and it will make it a lot easier to

understand. I also learned a lot about medieval culture like arranged marriages and how

important it was back then. I also learned about fate and other ideas and how they are important

in plays and books. These things will help me later on in writing. In conclusion, throughout this

semester, I have learned a lot of different things in each unit.
