Questionnaire Feedback and Statistical Review

After completing and publishing my animation, I began creating a

questionnaire for peer feedback. The questionnaire that I designed
included seven questions in total that are aimed at providing extra
information from other people in order to help me improve my animation
further. I included both open and closed questions in my questionnaire to
help provide a larger variety of answers from people who took my
questionnaire, so that I could analyse my animation in more detail.
The first question that I asked on my form was Do you think the audio
suits the theme of my animation? Out of the ten people that I asked, 9
people replied with Yes, with some of my peers elaborating on this
further by commenting that the audio also made the animation more
memorable. This shows me that an overwhelming majority of people who
gave feedback on my product thought that my choice of music in the
ident was appropriate for the purpose of the animation.
The person who responded No to this question also stated that the music
is exactly the same throughout and does not change, as it is an
instrumental song. I can see how this could be perceived by some to be
boring as it is the same type of music throughout the whole of the
animation.
As there is only one person who thinks that the choice of audio does not
suit the animation, I will not alter the music I have chosen. This is because
I do not think that there is enough people who dislike the music for me to
change the song completely as there are many more people who think
that the audio is relevant for my short animation.

Do you think the music suits my animation?

Yes No
The next question that I included on my questionnaire asked, Do you like/
dislike the background I have used for my animation? This question in
particular provided mostly positive feedback from my peers who all 10 of
the people I asked said that they liked the background. Some of the
feedback I received on this question also said that they really liked it and
it made the animation look more professional.
All of the ten people that responded to this question replied with a simple
Yes with over half of people elaborating on this by stating which
particular transitional effects they liked most.
One person commented that the effects used in the opening and closing
credits specifically impressed them. Another person added that the
animation flowed smoothly from each scene especially when changing
from the introduction into the actual animation.

Do you like the background used in my animation?

Yes No

In conclusion, the feedback I received from my peers was mostly positive

with many people choosing to point out specific parts in my animation
that they preferred the most. Therefore, from the research I have gathered
I would say that the short Claymation animation that I created would be
successful if used in the real- world. Most people also stated that the
animation fulfilled the client brief, meaning I have met the clients
requirements and achieved my objective.
If I were to do this project again however, I would change the background
in my animation. This is because I feel the light colours in my background
reflected the light in the room. This made some of the images that I took
seem too bright and was consequentially unable to use as part of my
animation. As well as this, I would also change the camera angles and
perceptions that I used in my final animation. In my animation, I only used
a central camera position, without the camera moving at all when taking
the images. This resulted in basic camera shots that limited my ability to
make my animation the best it could be. I feel I could have improved my
animation greatly if I had flexibility with the camera positioning and
angles. The stage was also an obstacle when moving the camera as it was
too small to fit all the content I wanted in the animation, as well as space
for the camera to go.
Overall, I feel I have met the clients requirements and made a successful
animation for the appropriate target audience.
