for i.s.
smaller than
a period a life
flies out of this book
they tore down his house
they tore down
his skylight
at 65
taking my suit from the closet
wabi-sabi
2 rusting
staples center
of my notebook
lay out 9 pills
todays lesson
the solar system
millimeter lines
on the watering cup
marigold seedlings
bluebells in front
the screen doors
unlatched
after rain
a clay pot full of
cotyledons
were she here
Joanned be there
picking morels
I tend my grapevine
a mythic child
swings in the garden
fig tree sap
peach tree and pine sap
the boys hands
catkins fallen the length of this path
after an hour
my jacket comes off
sun on the lake
water bubbling up
to my left
bobolink
the seedpods
in my change purse
dutchmans breeches
a brush-tip
points up

the trillium
opens
mother gone
he thins the lettuce
mothers day
dogwood flowers
float above
the unseen
jack-in-the-pulpit I mark the place
these peppers
the ones from
my childhood
fiddlehead ferns the paths beginning and end
