GENERAL APPROVAL Reevaluation - Concrete Strengthening Using the Tyfo

Fibrwrap Fiber-reinforced Composite System.

DETAILS

The above assemblies and/or products are approved when in compliance with the use,
description, design, installation, conditions of use, and identification of Evaluation Report No.
ESR-2103, reissued November 1, 2014, of the ICC Evaluation Service, Incorporated. The report,
in its entirety, is attached and made part of this general approval.

The parts of Report No. ESR-2103 which are excluded on the attached copy have been removed
by the Los Angeles City Building Department as not being included in this approval.

The approval is subject to the following conditions:

1. The calculations and details of structural strengthening using Tyfo Fiberwrap

Systems shall be prepared by an engineer or architect licensed in the State of California
and approved by Structural Plan Check.

2. Calculations of Structural strengthening using Tyfo Fibrwrap Systems shall be in

accordance with the Design Manual and the Design Examples (Appendix A of the Design
Manual) dated July 2010. A copy of the Design Manual must be available to structural
plan check upon request.

3. Installation of the Tyfo Fibrwrap Systems shall be performed by certified applicators

in accordance with Appendices A and B of the Fyfe Company Quality Control Manual.

4. Controlled activity inspection is required pursuant to Section .1704.2.5 of the 2014 Los
Angeles City Building Code.

5. Field quality control shall be in accordance with ICC ES Acceptance Criteria for
Inspection and Verification of Concrete and Unreinforced Masonry Strengthening Using
Fiber-reinforced Polymer (FRP) Composite.

6. Tyfo Fibrwrap Systems will be utilized without additional weather protection.

However, the site-specific exposure conditions shall be evaluated for each application.

7. The Tyfo Fibrwrap Systems when protected with the Tyfo FC/F System at the rates
above have a flame spread of 10 and a smoke density of 200.

DISCUSSION

The product is in compliance with the 2014 Los Angeles City Building code.

The approval is based on tests and analysis.

The Design Manual is on file with Engineering Research Section.

This general approval will remain effective provided the Evaluation Report is maintained valid
and unrevised with the issuing organization. Any revisions to the report must be submitted to
this Department, with appropriate fee, for review in order to continue the approval of the revised
report.

Addressee to whom this Research Report is issued is responsible for providing copies of it,
complete with any attachments indicated, to architects, engineers and builders using items
approved herein in design or construction which must be approved by Department of Building
and Safety Engineers and Inspectors.

This general approval of an equivalent alternate to the Code is only valid where an engineer
and/or inspector of this Department has determined that all conditions of this approval have been
met in the project in which it is to be used.
