MARY AND MUSIC

Voiceover: Ladies and gentlemen, good evening. In five minutes, we will start our
prayer concert. Please be reminded to observe silence once the prayer
concert begins. This is to maintain the conduciveness of the place for prayer. Thank you very
much for your cooperation.

Voiceover: Ladies and gentlemen, the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish proudly presents to you
Mary and Music: A Prayer Concert for a Cause. Please welcome Koro Maria!

After five minutes, the lights are turned off except the lights on the stage. The Koro Maria makes
their entrance and sings the Ang Puso koy Nagpupuri/Magnificat.

Fr. Wilbert: Maayong Gabii kaninyong tanan! Thank you for coming and of course for buying
tickets for our Prayer Concert for a Cause. As most of you know, the proceeds of
this concert will be spent for the reroofing of our parish. Perhaps, most of you have
witnessed that when it rains, pagmu-ulan, it pours inside our parish.

Based on our local engineers, we will need about 2.5 million for the project. Quite a
large amount, isnt it? But we are hopeful that with His grace and with our
cooperation, we will be able to raise the new roof of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Parish.

In faith, we believe that prayer can move mountains. Tonight, we will witness the
power of prayer. As one family, we will together pray with Mary, our Mother, our
Patroness. But tonight we dont merely say our prayers. As Saint Augustine says,
Who he sings prays twice. Yes, we will pray with Mary, but we will pray also with
musicwith Mary and Music.

I would also like to invite you tonight that as we listen to the songs we will be
singing let us reflect on our own music in life. What is the song that expresses best
the murmurs of my heart? Kung naay koy awit alang sa akong hinigugma, what is
it?Atik lang?

Tonight, as we pray with Mary and with music, let us also listen to the music of God.
Na bisan kusog kita modagan palayo kaniya, iya kitang gukdon ug dapiton balik
kaniya. Ug kana dili atik lang. His love is ever true. Its real. Mary experienced that

Each one of us here has his or her own struggles in life. Mary had her own as well.
But what sustained Mary was nothing else but the love of God. Kabalo siya nga
gihigugma siya sa Dios. And that was more than enough for her.

The next two songs we will be singing speak about the tremendous love of God for
each one of us. God is love and He loves us.
Fr. Wilbert, with Koro Maria, sings the song WONDERFULLY MADE. Afterwards, Fr.
Wilbert exits while Koro Maria remains standing for the next songWALAY SUKOD ANG
PAGMAHAL.

Choir Member: Truly, the Lord loves us. But sometimes we fail to appreciate his love. I think
one of the reasons why we fail to appreciate his love is because we
refuse to be loved. We refuse to be embraced by Jesus. We want to be
embraced by the world but not by Jesus.

But even if we run away from him, fill our hearts with what this world can
offer, we still remain hungry, thirsty, for real lovethe kind of love that
only God can give. This is the love that our hearts truly desire.

Koro Maria then sings AWIT NG PAGHAHANGAD, GANDANG SINAUNAT SARIWA,

and SAYONG PILING.

Fr. Wilbert: I am the handmaid of the Lord. Let it be done to me according to His Word.
Those were the words of Mary to the angel Gabriel when it was
announced to her that she would become the mother of the most-awaited
Messiah.

Bisan adunay kahadlok sa iyang kasingkasing, she offered her life to Gods
Will because she believed in her heart that God would never abandon
her. But we know that Mary did not live a life of comfort. Daghan siyay
mga kasakit sama nato. Her husband, St. Joseph, died. Mary knows the pain
of a widow. Mary knows the struggles of a single parent. Ug unsa pa may
iyang inak?

Mary, although she was the mother of God, was not exempted from human
pain and suffering. And yet, Mary remained faithful to God. Amidst
hopeless situations, she remained hopeful that God would never
abandon her.

Do not be afraidThe Lord is with you. Your Son is Emmanuelthe God who
is with us. Kung unsa man ang atong mga kalisud nga giagi-an karon,
Mary is reminding us not to be afraid. The Lord is with us.

Fr. Wilbert, with the Koro Maria, sings HUWAG KANG MANGAMBA. Fr. Wilbert exits.
Koro Maria sings GOD OF SILENCE.

Choir Member: We were created by Gods love. Whenever we run away from Him, He
seeks us in love. When we cross our darkest valleys in life, He is
with us assuring us that we are not alone. We are blessed as the
Blessed Virgin is blessed. We are blessed with Gods ever-abiding
presence.

Because of this, it is just right and just to give Him thanks.

Koro Maria sings then GOOD IT IS TO GIVE THANKS. After the song, a brief video
presentation concerning the project is shown. Fr. Wilbert introduces Sem. Jayroy. Sem. Jayroy
then takes the stage and sings INAY and THE PRAYER.

Choir Member: Maayong gabii sa tanan! I am _____________. I am a member of Koro

Maria. I love singing here because I love this parish. I was
baptized here.

I love this parish.
As it
was said earlier, When it rains, it pours inside the parish. I feel
responsible for the project because I consider this parish as my home.
This is my parish. This is our parish. This is our home.

God
knows thats beyond my capacity. But it does not mean that I
cannot do anything about it. That is why I am here. I am here not only
to make you pay. I am here, together with my friends, most importantly
to invite you to pray.

For the next songs we will be singing, together, let us ask the intercession
of the Blessed Virgin Mary for the fulfillment of our common
hope. Let us ask her help with firm faith that her Son Jesus could not refuse the
prayers said through her intercession.

One of the members of Koro Maria sings the MEMORARE. The soloist joins the group as
they altogether sing the ABA, GINOONG MARIA.

Choir Member: It is almost automatic for most of us, if not all, that when we are in need,
we go to our mothers. We seek help from mama, from mommy,
from nanay because we believe that no mother who is in her right mind
would turn down her child.

Mary, the mother of Jesus, is also our mother. She is our mother. She is
the mother of the Church who is the body of the head who is
Christ. We can always rely on her. We can always run to her
and be embraced by her love and care.

Koro Maria sings SAMAHAN MO KAMI AMING INA.

Fr. Wilbert: Before we sing our last song, tuguti ko pagpasalamat sa inyo pag-usab.
Salamat sa pag-anhi. Pasensya pud kung nayabag mi. We are not
professional singers. We are simply singers who try our
best to sing out our hearts. I hope you enjoyed the prayer concert.
But most importantly, I hope you were able to pray. Salamat kaayo.
Amping sa pag-uli!

Koro Maria sings I WILL SING FOREVER.
