SCALLOP STANDARD ! 9 1. Application This standard is prescribed to standard of scallop 2. contents: 2.1 In principle, no corner scallop is provided at the end of a member. 2.2 A corner scallop is exceptionally provided at the end of a member, but limited to the following positions: 0) Where necessary for running of oil or water in tanks. i) Members fitted to tank bottom plote, that is, solid floors, girders, bottom longitudinals, brackets, etc. ii) Horizontal members in tank, that is, horizontal girders and stiffeners, side longitudinals, brackets, ete. b) Where necessary for running of air in tanks. Members fitted to lower surface of tank top plate, that is, floors, girders, inner bottom longitudinals, longitudinal and transverse beams, brackets, etc. c) Where necessary for running of bilge, rain water and sea water in cargo hold, machinery space, accommodation quarters, weathered area, etc, i) Lower ends of vertical frames and stiffeners. ii) Brackets at lower ends of vertical frames and stiffeners. d) Corner at end of members such as web stiffeners and tripping brackets at penetration through web plates of frames, beams, longitudinals, refer to following sketch. 2.3 As to the details of the radius of the corner scallop in the above condition, reference should be made according to the following detail: —_) \ HCS, I SCALLOP STANDARD a TABLE OF RADIUS "R” ORDINARY — |CORNER SCALLOP "R” 100 scallop is not to be provided within the range of * marks. 5.3 End attachment of Members: A scallop or a drainhole is not to be provided within the range of == part "S” is to be 0.1L or 300mm, whichever is lesser, 4cs. il SCALLOP STANDARD 5 [15 5.4 Scallop at the corner of bracket in the connection of a web and a girder having the different depth each other.
