THIS WEEK | Father Philip will attend the monthly Deanery meeting on Wednesday at Footscray.

On Wednesday evening he will be at one of the Archbishops Visions and Directions Consultations
at Eastern Hill. This will include a presentation of a summary of the 'Diocesan Vision and Direc-
tions: Our Vision' strategic plan document.
THE NEXT HOLY HOUR | will be held on Thursday 22nd June at 6.00 pm. All are welcome. If you
would like to stay on for a bite to eat afterwards please bring a plate.
SILVER JUBILEE | Father Philip will celebrate his 25 years of ordination as a priest on Wednesday
5th July. There will be a Solemn Mass at 7.00 pm at which Bishop Lindsay Urwin will preach.
Champagne and nibbles will follow. Please put this date in your diary and come along.
STUDY GROUP | One of the suggestions raised for
our parish was a Bible Study Group. Instead of hav-
ing a regular one every week, Fr Philip proposes to
run a set of groups through the year. The first se-
ries will run for four weeks starting on Monday 26th
June. It will begin at 12 Noon with the short office
of mid-day prayer. This initial series will be a course
with short video talks by the Archbishop of Canter-
bury Justin Welby, on Getting more out of the Bible. Bring some sandwiches if you like. The
session will be over between 1.15 and 1.30 pm. Please speak to Fr Philip and let him know if you
are interested in coming along. The Archbishop offers 3 lectures to help us. Stephen Lyon, leader
of a project called The Bible in the Life of the Church offers a fourth. Their titles are: Approaching
Scripture | Scripture in Worship | Studying Scripture | Encountering Scripture. This course is ide-
al for people who are new to the Bible, as well as those who know the Bible well but are looking
for inspiration and resources.
