RICHARD L.

OANDASAN
Assistant Academic Director

Sir:

Greetings!

I am one with Midway Maritime Foundation, Inc. with the observation of its three-month long
intramurals as I am one with all the aspirations of the school particularly in terms of providing
academic excellence to the students. However, I would like to call your attention on my concern
in regard to my evening schedule of classes at Araullo College of Law which regularly start at
5:30.

Last week, we, the faculty and staff of the institution, were mandated to sign a letter of
confirmation of our attendance to this weeks intramurals celebration and without any question, I
attested my consent to it for I was left without any choice also believing I could eventually make
a compromise later on. However, I could neither find the best words to explain nor justify to my
professors my possible repeated or consecutive absences as the only admissible excuse,
according to them, are medical-related matters and to the same, I do not, in one way or another,
qualify. Even if I would construct a letter appealing before them to allow me to incur absences,
an excuse such as I have been required to participate in the night activities in connection to the
same occasion at work would do me more harm than good and could not help me avail any
mercy.

I am afraid I could not attend to any of our school events beyond 6 (six) in the evening for the
fear of being permanently dismissed from my classes as I have already been warned in the past
about it as per my college policy. I am, hence, appealing now to your good senses to qualify me
for penalty exemption for the very reason stated above hoping we could come into fair terms
and considerations.

Thank you very much!

In solidarity,

SARAH JOY G. RIVERA
