JUSTIFICACIN
El estudio cientfico del sistema nervioso ha abierto nuevos campos del conocimiento
entre los cuales destaca la Neurociencia del Comportamiento, tambin llamada
Psicobiologa o Biopsicologa. Esta es una rama de la Neurociencia que ha brindado
aportes importantes a la comprensin de procesos psicolgicos tales como percepcin,
atencin, aprendizaje, memoria y emocin, entre otros. En coherencia con lo anterior,
este curso constituye un medio para entender algunos correlatos neurofisiolgicos del
comportamiento humano sin desconocer la participacin del medio ambiente. Como dijo
Kandel Quizs la frontera final de la ciencia su ltimo desafo sea la
comprensin de las bases biolgicas de la conciencia y de los procesos mentales
por medio de los cuales percibimos, actuamos, aprendemos y recordamos.
