SITUATION VACANT
Applications are invited by Pakistan Railways (Headquarters Office, Lahore) from candidates to fill up
the following vacancies in the below mentioned categories.

i. Sub-Engineer/ 11 07 Matric 2ndDivision with science and 3 years Diploma of
Signal Shop Associate Engineer in Mechanical Technology.
ii. Sub Engineer / 11 20 Matric 2ndDivision with science and 3 years Diploma of
RTL Associate Engineer in Electrical, Electronic, Refrigeration and
Air Conditioning Technology.
iii. Sub-Engineer / 11 12 Matric 2ndDivision with science and 3 years Diploma of
Signal Associate Engineer in Electrical, Electronic Technology.
iv. Sub-Engineer / 11 05 Matric 2ndDivision with science and 3 years Diploma of
Telecom (Power Associate Engineer in Electrical, Electronic, Telecommunication
Supply) Technology.
v. Sub-Engineer / 11 01 Matric 2ndDivision with science and 3 years Diploma of
Telecom (AC) Associate Engineer in Electrical, Electronic, Telecommunication
Technology.

1. For item No. 1 to 4, only those applicants are eligible to apply who are permanent residents/possess
domicile of the area/region against whose quota vacancies are available. Quota-wise distribution of these
vacancies(Item No.1 to 4) is given below

2. For item No.5 to 10, only those applicants are eligible to apply on the basis of their domicile, who
belong to the Civil Districts & Tehsils falling under the territorial jurisdiction of respective Railway
Administrative Divisions i.e. Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Sukkur, Quetta & Karachi. Detail
of jurisdiction (Districts and Tehsils) of all Railway Divisions is available on website of PTS
i.e.www.pts.org.pk.

4. Applicants can apply for more than one post.
5. The applicants shall submit their applications alongwith supporting documents directly to Pakistan
Testing Services (PTS) on the below mentioned address:
3rd Floor, Adeel Plaza, Fazal-e-Haq Road, Blue Area, Islamabad.
6. Details of the above posts, terms and conditions, eligibility and test criteria, application forms and other
information may be seen at website of Pakistan Railways at www.pakrail.com and Testing Agency i.e.
PTS(Pakistan Testing Services) at www.pts.org.pk.
Additional quotas to be observed
a. 5% quota for Minorities/non Muslims in all categories.
b. 5% quota for Orphans in all categories.
c. 2% quota for disable persons for Item No.1 to 3 only.
d. 10% quotafor ex-Servicemen for Item No.4 to 10.
e. 20% quota for son/daughter of Railways Employee including 2% fixed for son/daughter of
Railways deceased employees for Item No.4 to 10.
AGE LIMIT
1. 18-25 years + 5 years General Age Relaxation in upper age limit on the closing date for receipt of
applications i.e.___-02-2017.
2. The age of candidates belonging to the scheduled Castes, Buddhist Community, Sindh Rural &
Balochistan recognized tribes of the Tribal Areas, Azad Kashmir and Northern Areas is relaxed for 3
years in addition to item No.1 above.
3. In case of Ex-Servicemen, the upper age limits is relaxed to the extent of 15 years or the number of years
actually served in the Armed Forces of Pakistan, whichever is less.
3. The age of Government servants and contract employees who have completed 2 years continuous
Government service on the closing date for receipt of application is relaxed by 10 years upto the age of
55 years.
4. The age of disabled candidates is relaxed by 10 years in the categories in which their quota has been
specified.
5 The age of widow or child of deceased Civil Servant who has died during service is relaxed by05 years
in addition to General Relaxation mention vide para-1 of Age Limit
6. Where a candidate is entitled to age relaxation under more than one category specified above, he shall be
allowed relaxation in age only in one category.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATES.
1. Application form shall be filled online by visiting PTS (Pakistan Testing Services)Website i.e.
www.pts.org.pk.
2. Candidates are also required to submit hard copy of the application form duly signed and filled, with
supporting documents, copy of CNIC, and two fresh passport size photographs and self addressed
duly stamped return envelope directly to PTS(Pakistan Testing Services) through courier on the
address mentioned on application form i.e. PTS (Pakistan Testing Services), 3rd Floor, Adeel
Plaza, Fazal-e-Haq Road, Blue Area, Islamabad.
3. Application forms may also be obtained from Railway Divisional Offices at Peshawar, Rawalpindi,
Lahore, Multan Sukkur, Karachi, Quetta and Moghalpura Workshop.
4. Test fees of Rs. 180/-shall be paid in any branch of United Bank Limited on prescribed online
deposit slip (Online deposit slip is attached with application form)or demand draft of any Bank
payable in Islamabad in favour M/S PTS(Pakistan Testing Services).No application will be
entertained in case the requisite fee as per instruction is not deposited. PTSs copy of original slip
must be attached with hard copy of the application forms.
5. Eligibility of the candidates shall be determined on the basis of applicants qualification,
performance in written test (to be conducted by PTS i.e. PTS(Pakistan Testing Services)and
interview within the criteria/policy devised by the department.
6. Last date of submission of applications is -02-2017.
7. Incomplete applications or applications carrying incorrect information shall be summarily
rejected. Only those candidates who fulfill the laid down criteria are eligible to apply.
8. Roll No. Slips containing the information regarding test center, timings and test date shall
separately be dispatched directly to candidates by PTS(Pakistan Testing Services)at least one
week before the test.
9. Candidates can also download their Roll No Slips, and papers content distribution from
PTS(Pakistan Testing Services) website later.
10. No TA/DA shall be admissible for interview.
11. The candidate selected will be required to:-
f. Pass prescribed Medical Examination and clearance by Security Agencies
g. Undergo specified training.
h. Join duty anywhere in Pakistan Railways systems e.g. Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan,
Sukkur, Quetta & Karachi etc.
2. If any document provided by candidates is found bogus during the admission process and afterwards the
appointment will be treated as cancelled.
Weightage for Selection.
70% written Test
30% interview.
