 REPORT ON THE INAUGURAL FUNCTION OF SAE (AUGUST 08-08-2015)

The inaugural function of SAE was organised by the department of mechanical engineering,
Christ University, Faculty of Engineering on 08th august 2015. The inaugural ceremony
commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Fr. Antony Puthussery, Dr. G.S.Hebbar, Chief
Guest Mr.K.P.Murthy, Guest of Honour Mr. G.K Venkatesh, at 10.10 am. Faculty members
along with students of the 3rd and 5th semesters of mechanical Engineering witnessed the
event.

Fr.Antony Puthussery, presented the welcome address in which he greeted the chief guest
and the guest of honour and he also emphasised on how right attitude and discipline are
important factors in employability of the students.

Felicitation of the office bearers was done by Prof. Ramkumar, after which he announced
the action plan for the academic year 2015-16. The inaugural address was done by Mr. K.P
Murthy, and declared the opening of the club.

The inaugural function came to an end with the vote of thanks, given by Dr. G.S.Hebbar
Head of the department of Mechanical Engineering, in which he expressed his gratitude to
the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour for gracing the function.

Mr. K.P Murthy in his address, on employability, gave the audience an insight about
engineering. He encouraged students to take up problems from the society and do research
for the betterment of the society. He also threw light on the thrust areas of research in
clean technology relating to clean air and energy.

In his address, the guest of honour Mr. G.K. Venkatesh, gave emphasis to latest trends in
automotive sector. He gave an insight about the ongoing researches on power train
electrification in cars and how electronics is increasing in cars. He also stressed on the point
that fusion and cloud computing are going to be the future of E/E architecture and also said
that autonomous driving will soon be a reality. The programme was officially concluded
after his talk.
