WOODHULL RACEWAY LOOSES
JULY 24 EVENT TO MOTHER NATURE.
With a heavy dousing of rain just at the start of
race time and more of the same in the forecast, Woodhull
Raceway owner, Ted White had no choice but to cancel
the night of race activity on Saturday, July 24, 2010. With
an already saturated racing surface from numerous rain
storms over the past 36 hours it left White and his staff
with little choice but to pull the plug on the show which
will set up a huge night of action on July 31 as the winged
Sprint Cars will take to the high banks of the Woodhull
Raceway.
On the card will be the make-up 25 lap feature for the
ASCS Patriot Sprints followed by a complete show of the
Open 360/410 Sprints as well as an entire Big 6 Show of
all of Woodhull’s regular classes of competition.
Gates for the July 31 event open at 4:30 and racing at 6:30
with the night of competition sponsored by Lamb and
Webster of Woodhull.
Rain checks from the July 24 show will be honored for the
next two completed nights of race action at the track for
the original $11.00 face value of the Adult General
Admission ticket price. Pit passes, Senior Citizen and
Student tickets will also be honored for the next two
Saturday’s of complete race action.
At the time of this press release it is not certain when
the Suzanne Whritenour Memorial for the NAPA 360
Late Models will be staged. Also, negotiations are
ongoing with representatives of Swarthout Recycling
of Beaver Dams for their return engagement as a nightly
event sponsor.

their first special event of the season.
“The Crate Sportsman Division has been a very good
addition to the weekly card at the track, stated Woodhull
owner, Ted White. Ever since the class was brought
onboard four years ago the fans have been treated to full
fields every week and a multitude of different feature
winners. No one really rules the roost so to speak.”
Donnie Lawson has won back to back track titles over the
past two seasons in the Crate Sportsman Division at
Woodhull however; it has not come easy for the second
generation pilot from nearby Addison as it has been
consistency rather than multiple feature wins each season
that have found him claiming the track championship.
Lawson will lead the charge of a whole host of Woodhull
regulars for the August 7 special event as such other
standout drivers like Zach Sutton, A.J Potrzebowski, Casey
Pavlick, Chris Silvers, the Delong brothers as well as
who’s who list of others will see competition.
Also on the card it will be a regular show of the Insinger
Performance 358 Modifieds, the NAPA 360 Late Models,
the Morgan’s Auto Repair Street Stocks along with the
Signs Plus of Kanona Mini Stocks and the LaBarron
Brothers Repair and Parts Front Wheel Drive Divisions.
Gates for the August 7 event open at 4:30 with racing
at 6:30 pm.
Two high powered marketing partners in the Multi Media
Services of Corning and the Elmira Jackals Hockey Team
will be at Woodhull to host the event.
Multi Media is the regions leader in printing and graphic
design and it goes without saying that the Elmira Jackals
Hockey Team is one of the northeast’s top professional
sports teams. Multi Media President, Rick Bartholomew as
well as Jackals General Manager Robbie Nichols are both
anticipated to be in attendance for the event.

HORNELL — Beverly W. Peck,
86, formerly of Grand St.,
passed away Tuesday (July 27,
2010) at the Hornell Gardens.
Born in Hornell, April 23, 1924,
the daughter of Clair and Ruth
Ferris Woolever, she was a grad-
uate of Hornell High School and
had resided in Hornell all her
life. She was a member of the
Glad Tidings Assembly of God
in North Hornell.
She was predeceased by her
parents; her husband, Richard
Peck in 2007; her daughter,
Linda Cotton in 2002; and her
grand daughter, Shari Peck.
She is survived by her daugh-
ters, Robin (John) Bedson of
Livonia, and Nancy Daniels of
Kentucky; two sons, Richard
(Susan) Peck of Wellsville, and
Donald (Filamina) Peck of Brock-
port; her sister, Marilyn (Zane)
Baker of Ohio; eight grandchil-
dren; and several great grand-
children, nieces and nephews.
Friends wishing to send a re-
