Jordan Rae Going

FALL 2017
Special Education Generalist (K - 12)

I am pleased to know of a student teaching opportunity in your schools building. School is a place I
love to be, and I have much experience in applying what I am learning into teaching using appropriate
methods, and considering how a student learns best based on educational objectives. I am very prepared
to become a team player in a school system and would be pleased to be a part of your school organization.

My Educational Philosophy:
Education has changed my life because it has shown me that even though I am imperfect, and I make
mistakes, its not about that, its about learning. It has helped me discover that life is not meant to be
perfect, but to be learned from each day, no matter our circumstance. It has given me the desire to help
someone else, to show them anyone can learn, anyone can try. And if we trying to learn then we are
slowly becoming educated. Looking back on my life, some of the happiest times have been when I loved
to learn, and I thrived on it. It is my belief that if we love learning, we can start to become educated as
we expand our vision.

Highlights of my Accomplishments and Skills:

Presently employed in the Education Technology Lab on the BYU-Idaho campus, proctoring the
Technology Proficiency exams, grading for the Education Technology class, tutoring technology skills,
and assisting the Professor/Department head of Technology: Arlen Wilcock.
Completed multiple Practicum classes which have allowed me to go into local public schools and
learn under current Special Education teachers who advised me and taught me, giving me ample
experience in being a Special Education teacher.
Possess an ability to write educational objectives and lesson plans, along with writing and
revising IEP goals and recording a students progress based on the goals.

My drive to work hard and determination to not give up on helping a student, along with my
organizational skills and good teaching ability, allow me to be a successful teacher and put each students
needs above my own, no matter what that may entail. Also, I am able to write and edit lesson plans
according a students present level of performance, helping students reach their full potential as learners.
My resume is enclosed along with my contact information. I would be happy to personally discuss how
my skills and strengths could best serve your school and students, and also any questions or concerns
you might have for me.

Thank you,

Mrs. Jordan Going
