ASSEMBLY AND PRECAUTIONS

Perform the assembly work by following the stated procedure. Failing to comply with the instructions
can cause injury or damage.

Assembly should be performed as per this manual. This is a complex machine, and erroneous assembly can
result in malfunctioning or damage to the machine.

When assembling this machine, be sure that 2 or more persons are available to perform the work. Attempting
to assemble the machine alone can cause personal injury and damage to the game.

When carrying out the assembly work, follow the procedure in the following sequence:

1 ASSEMBLING THE COCKPIT

2 SECURING IN PLACE/LEG ADJUSTERS

3 INSTALLING THE BILLBOARD

4 INSTALLING THE AC COVERS

5 CONNECTING POWER SUPPLY

6 TURNING ON POWER

7 ASSEMBLY CHECKS

Note that the master key, and cash box key are required, in addition to tools such as a phillips head
screwdriver, wrench for M16 hex bolt and socket wrench to perform the assembly work.

Perform the tightening of hex bolts described in item 1 above after adjusting the leg levelers as per item
2. Make sure that until the leg leveler adjustments are made, hexagon bolts are tightened only
temporarily.

SECURING IN PLACE (LEG ADJUSTERS)

Make sure that all of the leg adjusters are in contact with the floor. If they are not, the machine may
move and cause an accident.

When assembling, be sure to perform the work by plural persons to avoid the risk of injury or damage to the
machine.

This machine has eight casters and eight leg adjusters. When the
installation position is determined, cause the leg adjusters to come into
contact with the floor, and make adjustments so that the casters are
raised approximately 5mm off the ground and that the machine is level.

Move the machine to the installation position. When installing the

machine against or close to a wall, be sure to secure a sufficient passage
space.

Attach the joint plate for the two internal leg adjusters as shown. First,
cause the other six leg adjusters to come in contact with the floor. Make
adjustments with a wrench to ensure that the machine's position is level.

After making adjustments, fasten the leg adjuster nut upwards and secure

Cautions and Warnings Concerning the Safety for Handling the Monitors http://www.seuservice.com/manuals/Super%20GT/Super%20GT%20Tw...

[Table of Contents] [Previous Page] [Next Page]

9. CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS CONCERNING SAFETY FOR HANDLING THE

MONITORS
Before handling the monitors, be sure to read the following explanations and comply with the caution/
warning instructions given below. Note that the caution/warning symbol marks and letters are used in
the instructions.

Indicates that handling the monitors erroneously by disregarding this warning may cause a potentially
hazardous situation, which could result in death or serious injury.

Indicates that handling the monitors by disregarding this caution may cause a potentially hazardous
situation, which could result in personal injury and/or material damage.

Indicates that access to a specifc part of tbe equipment is forbidden.

Indicates the instruction to disconnect a power connector or plug.

When performing such work as installing and removing the monitor, inserting and disconnecting the
extemal connectors to and from the monitor and its interior, be sure to disconnect the power connector
(plug) before beginning the work. Proceeding the work without following this instruction may result in
shock or malfunctioning.

Using the monitor by converting it without obtaining prior permission is not allowed. SEGA shall not be liable
for any malfunctioning and accidents caused by this conversion.

Primary side and Secondary side The monitor's circuit, which is divided
into the Primary side and Secondary side, is insulated. Do not touch the
primary side, and do not touch both sides simultaneously. Not following this
instruction can cause a very dangerous shock. When making monitor adjustments,
use a non-conductive driver and make adjustments without touching any part othor
than the Adjustment V.R. and knob. Also, be sure not to cause a short circuit to the
Primary side and Secondary side. If short-circuited, it may cause a dangerous shock or malfunctioning.

High-tension Voltage Some of the parts inside the monitor are subject to high-tension voltage in excess of
20,000 volts. Therefore, be sure not to touch the monitor's interior. Should soldering, paper wastes, etc. fall
into the monitor interior, turn the power off so as not to cause a malfunctioning or fire hazard.

1 of 3 4/9/2008 6:21 AM
Cautions and Warnings Concerning the Safety for Handling the Monitors http://www.seuservice.com/manuals/Super%20GT/Super%20GT%20Tw...

Connecting the CRT and PCB For combining tbe CRT and PCB, use the specified part No. to
maintain the status of adjustments made at the factory. The anode of the CRT itself wil1 be
accumulatively charged as time elapses, generating dangeous high-tension voltage. The monitor should
be used with the Chassis, CRT and PCB. When repair, etc. is required at the time of malfunctioning, be sure to
send it in an "as assembled" condition. If these are disassembled, what has been charged with high-tension
voltage may be discharged, causing a very hazardous situation. Therefore, under no circumstances should it be
disassembled.

Static Electricity Touching the CRT surface sometimes causes you to feel slight electricity. This is because
thc CRT surfaces are subject to static; this will not adversely affect the human body.

Installation and removal Ensure that the Magnetizer Coil, FBT (Fly-Back-Transformer), Anode Lead and
Focus Lead are not positioned close to the sheet metal work's sharp edges, etc. and avoid damaging the
insulated portions so as not to cause shock and malfunctioning. (For the name of parts, refer to the above
Figures).

For the purpose of static prevention, special coating is applied to the

CRT face of this product. To protect the coating, pay attention to the
following points. Damaging the coating fllm can cause electric shock to
the customers. For the caution to be heeded when cleaning, refer to the
corresponding section of Periodic Inspection Table.

Do not apply or rub with a hard item (a rod with pointed edge, pen, etc.) to or
on the CRT surfaces.

Avoid applying stickers, seals, etc. on the CRT face.

Do not remove aluminum foils from the CRT corners. Removing the aluminum foils can cause static
prevention effects to be lowered.

CAUTIONS TO BE HEEDED WHEN CLEANING THE CRT SURFACES

Static preventive coating is applied to the CRT surfaces. When cleaning, pay attention to the to the
following points. Peeling off the static preventive coat can cause electric shock.

Remove smears by using a dry, soft cloth (flannel, etc.). Do not use a coarse gauze, etc.

For smear removing solvent, alcohol (ethanol) is recommended. When using chemical detergent, be sure to
follow instructions below:

Dilute chemical detergent with water and dip a soft cloth in and then thoroughly wring it to wipe
smears off.

Do not use a chemical detergent containing an abradant, powder or bleaching agent.

Do not use alkaline chemical detergenta such as glass cleaner available on the market or solvents
such as thinner, etc.

13. GAME BOARD

In order to prevent electric shock, be sure to tum off power before performing work on the inside of
the cabinet.

Be careful so as not to damage wiring. Damaged wiring can cause electric shock and short circuit accidents.

Do not expose the game board without good reason. In this product, setting changes are made in the
test mode. The game board need not be operated. Use the game board with the settings made at the
time of shipment.

13 - 1 REMOVING THE GAME BOARD

FOR REFERENCE ONLY!

To replace the IC board or to change dip switch settings, take out the IC board using the following procedure:

Tum the main switch off.

Unlock the base, and remove the two truss screws from the side of the base.

Tum the knob to unlock. The seat can be inclined in the direction shown. When inclining the seat, be careful
not to damage the seat parts. Carefully rest the backrest portion of the seat on the ground.

If necessary, protect the seat from damage by using a cloth or blanket on the floor.

Take off the six screws to remove the cage. Unplug all connectors. Retum the cage in the boxes provided to
you with the game.

14. COMMUNICATION PLAY

INSTALLATION PRECAUTIONS

This game can be linked to allow up to 8 players to play simultaneously. When linking a number of machines,
be sure to supply sufficient power for the number of machines. The "per unit" standard amperage is 100~1
20V / I OA and 220-240V / 5A

LINKING LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE CABINETS

1. Locate the Fiber Optic Linking Cable (shipped inside the cashbox).

2. The cable and machine linking connectors are keyed so that they can only be connected when the long flat
side of the cable connector is facing up (see Figure I 1).

3. At the center rear of the machine, insert the black end of the linking cable into the TX connector and the red
end into the RX connector (see Figure 12).

4. Loop and tuck the excess Fiber Optic cable between the left-side and right-side cabinets DO NOT BEND
THE FIBER OPTIC CABLE.

1 of 4 4/9/2008 6:23 AM
Communication Play http://www.seuservice.com/manuals/Super%20GT/Super%20GT%20Tw...

Apply seat number stickers to the seats. The seats are numbered sequentially from the left, when facing the
monitor.

The fiber optic cable used in communications play is very delicate. It may be easily damaged by
excessive bending.

2 of 4 4/9/2008 6:23 AM
Communication Play http://www.seuservice.com/manuals/Super%20GT/Super%20GT%20Tw...

During interactive play, if communication is interrupted due to some cause, the game will be
interrupted, and the network check screen will appear on all units.

When performing communication play, the settings of game assignments in the test mode need to be changed.

Cause all of the machines linked to enter the test mode.

Set the link type of the machines to Car 1, Car 2, etc, sequentially in order starting from the left, when facing
the monitor. At this time, make sure that no numbers are duplicated.

One machine whose link type is Car 1 will be the master unit. Thereafter, all the other machine's settings,
except for advertise sound, cabinet type, and link type will be the same as those of the master unit.

After changing the settings of all machines connected for communication play, make sure that all of the
machines exit the test mode.

In the network check, if there is no irregularity, the advertise mode will appear, allowing for communication
play.

Communication Play http://www.seuservice.com/manuals/Super%20GT/Super%20GT%20Tw...

CAUTIONS TO BE HEEDED WHEN USING THE TEST MODE

Exiting from the test mode causes the units to perform the network check immediately. During this time, all of
the linked units will not allow the game to be played. Be sure not to enter test mode when any unit is in play.
