When I think of myself as a teacher, I believe that I could describe myself as passionate,

confident, and willing to learn and grow. Personally, I believe that these characteristics are

crucial to the teaching profession. My desire to aid youth on their educational pathway

corresponds with the main goal of education: growth. I believe that all students should have the

opportunity to be able to grow within the educational system with what works best for them.

With that being said, I vow to understand my students in a way that will help me teach them in

the best way possible. I also believe that students do not only grow academically through school

but also socially. In order to assist young learners to become social leaders I plan to require a

student led classroom. In order to obtain this goal, students in my class will have opportunities to

make decisions with their education. My future students will also be able to grow socially by

learning concepts that can be used in real life situations, such as presenting skills, as one

example.

A look into my teaching style would consist of lessons that have visual, auditory, and

kinesthetic components. I believe that all students learn differently; therefore, it is the teachers

duty to be able to provide the students with many different ways to learn. Students also test

differently. I would provide my students with varied ways to demonstrate their learning. For

example, I would use tests, projects, essays, or whichever way they feel shows their learning

best. I believe giving students choice in how they learn and how they show what they learn is

crucial in any class. Allowing students this choice gives them the opportunity to grow in a way

that works for them; it allows them to take ownership of their learning. Another important

concept of my teaching style is engagement. Students learn best when they are engaged. To

obtain this, I would ensure that my lessons are fun, real-world, and something that the class

would in interested in.

In conclusion, it is important to note that I want my future students to feeling respected,

safe and important in my classroom. To do this, I would ensure that my students know who I am

and for me to know who they are. I believe making personal connections with your students

allows a classroom to become real. Once students feeling respected, safe, and important within a

classroom the real magic begins.
