Harsh environment protection

Our engineers thrive on the challenge to develop products that need to operate in the most
difficult electrical, mechanical and environmental conditions. Our thermistor motor protection
relays protect your application from overheating and therefore prevent motor damage ensuring
your peace of mind.
The new thermistor motor protection relays CM-MSS protect your application due to the coverage of
many internationally valid approvals and markings and therefore ensure best quality and compliance to
the most international safety standards. Additionally by installing a CM-MSS device you are in compliance
with the latest version of the product standard DIN EN 60947-8:2013-07 and IEC/EN 60947-8 concerning
control units for built-in thermal protection for rotating electrical machines.

Improve installation efficiency

In everything we do, we think of the customer and the application first. Our engineers constantly
look for ways to simplify the installation process by developing innovative product designs which
facilitate the product assembly and avoid mounting errors and reduce maintaince cost.
The CM-MSS range is easy to use due to the newest innovation: the possibility to distinquish between
different operational states and faults. You can easily check the status of the application by reading
the front-face LEDs. The excellent documentation in terms of data sheets, instruction sheets and the
EPR catalog provides all necessary information to select, install and configure these products. By using
the push-in variant of the CM-MSS range a fast wiring is possible while avoiding mounting errors. The
completely tool free mounting and de-mounting simplifies the installation process as well. Adjustments
can be done by the front faced DIP switches which are covered by the marker lable.

Installation Manual for Honeywell Busduct

1. Introduction
This manual is designed to assist you in installing, maintaining and commissioning busduct systems.
This manual consists of four sections:
General information:
Check against the isometric view drawing and have a brief overview of busbar trunking system
components and how they are installed
Installation: Description of how the busbar trunking system elements are installed
Inspection checks: Description of how to handle the busbar trunking system once it has been
installed
Torque Check and Pre-Energization Test reports

2. Planning
Receiving goods
Take particular note of the information on the packaging (symbols, labels, etc.). Observe the warning
notices.
The item number on the packaging and the project manual will help you to identify where the
element is to be installed in the layout.
Check that the material has been delivered in perfect condition and with no transport damage.

Storage
It must be stable, secure and not on a slope. It must be protected against damp, extreme
temperatures and water penetration.

Packaging
The busbar trunking system elements are supplied with protective covers on their ends. These
protect conductors, insulators and joint blocks against impact during transport and storage on the
building site. The protective foil/packaging also protects the elements from dust and damp.
Do not remove the protective covers until the busbar trunking system elements are ready to be
joined.
Handling
Busbar trunking system elements can be moved using a forklift and/or suspended from slings.
Use fabric slings to suspend the busbar trunking system elements.

3. Installation
Installation recommendations
Install either the whole line or parts of it, depending on how accessible and safe the layout is.
Start the installation by connecting from the panel board.
Once the distribution board has been installed, continue towards the transformer, sub- distribution
board and consumers.
Or start from Transformer outlet to panel board which deem to be more practical.
Always ensure that that the joints, busduct surface are free from any dust particles and clean it with a
clean white soft fabric
Make insulation resistor test for each piece before installation. Individual pieces should megohm test
as infinite resistance. Consult us if you experience a lower reading
Inspect and check every piece of busduct phasing positioning against the isometric drawing.
Items or equipment to use during installation, measure tape, 3 dimension laser beam, pump bob,
string, pen markers, etc.

Attaching fixing material

The busbar trunking system is generally attached to the structure of the building using externally
provided supporting structures (e.g. threaded rods, C-profiles, joists or stands for intermediate levels)
and the system-specific fixing bracket.
An element must never be left unsupported. For easier levelling, always use two supports for each
element wherever possible

Bracket for horizontal installations

A bracket must never coincide with a joint block. Always maintain a distance of at least 250 mm
between the centre of the joint block and the bracket
Bracket distance for all amperage busduct shall keep at a minimum distance of 2 meters.
The fixing Busducts bracket B can be used for elements mounted flat or on their edge (see
illustration).

Installation Manual for Honeywell Busduct

Connecting elements by joining the ends together

Remove the both the flange covers by removing screws.

Turn the joint nut anti-clockwise to open the joint fully.
Line up the elements to be joined to one another, ensuring that the joint block does not become tilted.
Insert the joint block fully and check the position of the elements to be connected. If necessary,
realign the elements so that they sit flush and do not get bent in the joint block.
The notch of the flange cover fits into the slot of the joint block without bending
Gradually and carefully, turn the joints nut clockwise without stopping until the external nut breaks
off, giving a tightening torque of between 65 - 70 Nm for 19mm nut and 115-125 Nm for 21mm nut.
When the external nut breaks off, the red safety ring drops down. This shows that the joint has been
tightened (no further checking is necessary).
If it is for re-tightening, ensure the nut is tightened to the torque value as mentioned above.
Paste the Torque Check Done sticker on each joint.

Check the insulation resistance for all phases. Megohm test at 1000 VDC the assembly
occasionally and check for improperly connected joints. The resistance should not drop below
one megohm per 100 feet/ 30 meters of the busway. Proceed for the next connection.

Minimum Clearances

Figure below illustrates the minimum clearances that must be maintained in various installation situations .

Floor fixing for spring brackets for vertical busduct

Ensure that the element is correctly positioned in terms of the adjoining element.
Loosen the hanger bolt A,
Assemble the hangers to each side of the busway.
Position the hangers on the busway so that the base channel rests on the floor or other support .
Fit the hanger clamps to the busway housing and hand tighten the hanger bolts
Anchor the base channels to their supports.
Tighten the hanger bolts
Install the next length and make the joint assembly
Support busway on maximum 2800mm centres

3. Maintenance
The busway should be inspected every year.

Check that the total load current should be no more than the main busbar current or the design
current.
Check for adverse temperature rise with infrared thermal scanning equipment.
Check insulation resistance of the busway system and keep a complete record.
Make sure the installation bracket is stable and the reliable connection of the joint bolt.
Check if there is any rust or corrosion with components, replacement is necessary.
Check the equipment close to busway that might cause damage because of external heating.
Clean the outer of all the busway system enclosure
