Age : Miocene Nomenclature : Kastowo & Suwarna (1966) Type Locality : Halang Hill, Majenang Quadrangle, Jawa. Type section : Canyon Cikabayutan River through Geger Halang (Halang Hill), 108049E702S. Description : Alternating sandstone, claystone, marl and tuff, with inetrcalation of breccia. Fossil Content : Lepidocyclina (Trybliolepidina) ruteni, Lepidocyclina borneensis, Lepidocyclina douvillei, Cycloclypeus indopasificus, C. Postindopacificus. Safarudin (1982) mentioned the occurrence of planktonic foraminifers in the lower and upper part of the formation. The foraminifers iin the lower part of formation indicate N15 N 16 age whereas those in the upper part indicate N15 N18 age. Fossils of upper bathyal environment were also found i.e. Gyrodina sp and Epinedes sp. Stratigraphic Relationship : This formation conformably overlies the Lawak Formation and is disconformably overlain by theTapak Formation. Breccia has fragments of pyroxene andesite, clay stone and limestone. Fossil Content : No data Stratigraphic Relationship : This unit is conformably overlain by the Halang Formation. Description : Alternation of calcareous sandstone, claystone, tuff, marl and calcarenite, under the influence of turbidite current. Fossil Content : Globorotalia praermenardii, Globorotalia siakensis, Globorotalia menardii, Sphaeroidinellopsis subdehiscens, Orbulina universa and Orbulina bilobata. Stratigraphic Relationship : Correllated with the Pamatuan, Kalipucang and Pemali Formations. Fossil Content : Catapsydrax dissimilis, Catapsydrax unicava unicava, Globigerina amphiapertura, Globigerina yeguaensis, Globigerina parva, Globigerina tripartita, Globoquadrina venezuelena, Globigerinoides altiaperturus, Globigerinoides immaturus, Globigerinoides trilobus, Globigerinoides sacculifer, Globorotalia siakensis, Globorotalia opima nana, Globoquadrina altispira, Uvigerina sp., Gyroidina sp. Stratigraphic Relationship : Conformably overlain by the Waturanda Formation, lower part conformably overlies or interfingers with Eocene Oligocene Karangsambung Formation. Age : Midde Eocene Oligocene Nomenclature : Asikin et al. (1992) Type Locality : Karangsambung Village, 14 km north of Kebumen City, Kebumen Quadrangle, Jawa. Description : Scaly clay with blocks of limestone, conglomerate, sandstone, claystone and basalt. Fossil Content : Globigerina boweri, Ga. Daubjargensis, Ga. Yeguaensis, Globigerina sp, Globorotalia centralis, Globorotalia bulbrooki, Gr. Bolivarianan, Catapsydrax unicsvus, Globigerapsis mexicana, Globiorotalia aequa, Gr. Tribloculinoides, Globigerinatheka barri, Globorotalia gracilis, Globigerina tripartita, Ga. Sellii, Globorotalia opima nana, Globigerina praebulloides, Uvigerina sp, Gyroidina soldanii. The limestone contains larger foraminiferal species indicating a Late Eocene age (Tb). The Paleocene species are thought to represent reworked individuals.
