Firstly, we would like to congratulate our Year flypast from none other than the Red Arrows

SPEECH DAY
We are delighted to announce that we will be joined by Ben
Breeze this year to present the prizes at Speech Day. Ben,
a successful rugby player, played for England U21s, Wales
7s, Wales A, Exeter Chiefs, Newport RFC and Bristol. He
now heads up the Bristol Sports Foundation. In addition,
Ben has won 9 All Party Parliamentary Awards.
We are looking forward to welcoming him at the school.

U13 Girls Cricket Festival at Clifton College U13 Girls Cricket vs St. Johns-on-the-Hill
The girls enjoyed superb coaching and match TMS 260 - St. Johns 331
play in an afternoon at The Close, Clifton Players of the Match: Rachel Shutt (batter) and

U9 Cricket vs Clifton High School
Another convincing match, winning by 72 runs. This result means that the U9s have had an unbeaten
season - a first at under 9 level since we started playing matches in this age group.

The squad in Year 3 and 4 have all developed their skills and match understanding. A huge thanks
to all the staff involved - Mr Dawkins (Snr.), Mr Glanville, Mr Perez and Mr Francis. Thank you also
to Mr Dawkins (Jnr.) for his expertise during his coaching sessions in the off season.

SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE
The school was invited to this weeks Service of Remembrance at the South West Woodland War
Memorial, to remember the service men and women who have given their lives in the service of
their country. Archie Symonds, Alys Wakeling and Jeanne Veron accompanied Mrs Walker, our
Marketing Manager, and met Her Majestys Lord - Lieutenant of Bristol, Mrs Peaches Golding OBE.

Mrs Walker said that it was a very moving experience for us all...Archie laid a wreath on behalf of
the school, he was the only child to do this amongst a crowd of adults in formal dress and uniform.
Archie, Alys and Jeanne you are a credit to the school, thank you.

CARDIFF JUNIOR TRIATHLON
Congratulations to Year 7s Jake Wakeling on
winning the bronze medal in the U14 category
of the Cardiff Junior Triathlon. He completed the
300m swim, 6km bike ride and 2.4km run in an
impressive 29 minutes. Watch out the Brownlee
brothers!!

AVON SCHOOLS COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS


Congratulations to Dalis Jones on winning the U15 1500m Avon
Schools County Championships at Bath University. This qualifies her
for the South West Schools event at Exeter. Otis Walker performed
creditably in the U13 800m race, coming home in 4th. Both athletes
won the South Glos. Schools event in order to qualify for this meeting.

TENNIS
The school teams continued on their winning ways with a convincing win
against Wycliffe College. The U13 1st string, Angus Duncan and Ceredig
Jones, won all 3 of their rubbers, with the 2nd and 3rd strings, Jaime and
Javier, and James and Jake, winning 2 of their 3 rubbers. Cole OLeary
and Archie West (U11 pair) won both their rubbers, with the U13 girls,
Dalis Jones and Rachel Shutt, winning both of theirs.
The team ended the 2017 season unbeaten having played some
impressive tennis. The team were superbly led by their captain, Angus
Duncan. Well played!
