About README
This document should be used by any person responsible for the delivery of the Oracle Linux 6 Implementation Boot
Camp. This may include the boot camp instructor and/or other authorized party (event planner, regional enablement
lead, etc.).

The main topics covered in the Oracle Linux 6 Implementation Boot Camp class include the following:
*Note: 2 days is recommended minimum; duration may be variable based upon audience knowledge and skill level, what content is
utilized and how a Delivery Partner conducts.
For more detailed information refer to Boot Camp Datasheet in the boot camp kit.
All content necessary to prepare for and successfully deliver this boot camp is contained within a set of files organized
within a standardized directory structure see Distribution Directory and File Description chapter. This set of files is
referred to as the course distribution.
1.1 Facilities
This boot camp is designed to be delivered in person or in a live virtual format. Based on own web conferencing tool
characteristics, as well as on physical facility, a suitable classroom should be arranged to accommodate the planned class
size. This is just a planning guideline. You should base your decision on your knowledge of your planned participants.
Classroom Requirements

Based on our experience due to attrition, no shows and passive participants you may consider planning for a class of
twice the above sizing and only assuming that half of the confirmed participants will be actively involved.
Network Requirements
High speed internet connection is required for both students and instructor.

Provide necessary training to instructor(s) on use

possible connection issues, login or access issues
that might arise.
EXECUTION

2 Environment Preparation
The lab exercises for the Oracle Linux 6 Boot Camp require the student to use their own laptop and have installed and
running Oracle VirtualBox application. They will use VirtualBox application to run all the Oracle Linux 6 lab exercises for
practice.
Student machines must meet the requirements as stated in the Boot Camp Datasheet. In addition, internet access is
required for performing most lab exercises.
Note: Oracle Linux Package Management Lab (lab 3) requires a trial Ksplice license key. Please contact OPN Events team
at opn-edu_ww@oracle.com or your Oracle Linux Partner Enablement representative to obtain the Ksplice trial license
key if you wish to perform this optional lab exercise at least one week before the event start date.
