Students appeared to be focused on the teacher.

Teacher provided visuals. She had a couple of different pictures projected on the white board to
have students make a connection. The she had them turn-and-talk.

Teacher showed the class website with the novel unit information. Students used their laptops to
look up an unfamiliar vocabulary word during the lecture.

While this particular class day was not very exciting an did not really allow much for student
learning it did set up and explain a novel unit. The novel unit appears to be a great assignment with
multiple activities and instructional methods.
