WHO BELL THE CAT
Once, a great number of mice lived in a shop.
They ate the fresh, tasty wheat and bread etc.
But shopkeeper was concerned about losses.
So, he thought a plan
He bought a big fat cat in his shop.
The cat began to catch the mice every day.
This was a great cause of worry for them.
They got together and started thinking.
Finally, one mouse spoke up,
We should tie a bell around the cats neck.
When bell rings, we will know where the cat is?
All the other mice liked the idea.
An old mouse said, Who will bell the cat?
None of the mice had an answer.
An old mouse then said, It is easier to talk to do.
Moral: It is easier to talk to do.
GREEDY DOG
Once, there was a dog.
He was very hungry.
He ran here and there for food but failed.
At last he went to a butchers shop.
He stole a piece of meat and ran away.
In his way, there was a river.
While crossing the bridge, he saw his shadow in water.
He thought it another dog with a piece of meat.
He barked at him to get that piece of meat.
His own piece of meat fell down.
He lost his piece of meat due to greed.
Moral: Greed is a curse.
THE HARE AND THE TORTOISE
Once, a hare saw a tortoise walking slowly.
The hare was very proud and he asked the
tortoise. Shall we have a race?
The tortoise agreed.
They started the running race.
The hare ran very fast.
But the tortoise walked very slowly.
The proud hare rested under a tree and soon slept off.
But the tortoise walked slowly and steadily and
reached the goal.
At last, the tortoise won the race.
Moral: Slow and steady win the race.
Moral: Never make fun of other.
Moral: Pride hath and fall.
FOX AND THE GRAPES
Once, there was a fox.
She was very hungry.
She ran here and there for food but failed.
At last she went to a garden.
She saw a bunch of grapes.
Bunch was high on the wall.
She jumped again and again to get them but failed.
At last she went away saying grapes are sour.
I shall not eat them.
Moral: People pretend to dislike what they cannot
Moral: Grapes are sour.
THIRSTY CROW
Once, there was a crow.
He was very thirsty.
He flew here and there for water but failed.
At last he went to a garden.
He saw a Jug.
But the water was very low in it.
He thought a plan.
He put some stones into the Jug.
Water rose up.
He drank water and flew away.
Moral: God helps those who help themselves.
Moral: Necessity is the mother of invention
Moral: Where there is a will, there is a way
UNION IS STRENGTH
Once, there was a farmer. He had four sons.
They always quarreled with each other.
One-day farmer called them.
He asked them to bring a bundle of sticks.
Then he asked them to break the bundles.
They all tried but failed.
Now he asked them to untie the bundle and break
the sticks one by one.
Now they break them easily.
At this, farmer said.
If you live like bundle united, nobody can harm you.
After that, they never quarreled.
Moral: Union is Strength.
Moral: United you stand, divided you fall
THE LION AND THE MOUSE
A lion was sleeping in a forest.
A mouse started playing on lion.
The lion was disturbed.
It caught up the mouse and tried to crush the mouse.
Then the mouse prayed to leave him off and
assured that mouse would help him.
The lion laughed at the mouse.
One day the lion was caught in a net spread by a hunter.
The lion roared and tried to escape but in vain.
The mouse heard the lion's roaring and came there.
Mouse started cutting the net with its teeth.
The lion escaped and thanked the mouse.
Moral: Do good, have good.
PARENTS AS A BEST TEACHER
Parents shape their children from the beginning.
They teach their children moral values.
They share their interests with them.
They develop close emotional ties with them.
Parents can be very important teachers in their
children's lives.
A parent may be afraid of the child getting hurt.
My Parents are guiding star for me.
My parents are great.
They ask to offer prayers five times a day.
They ask to the Holy Quran daily.
My parents are best teacher for us.

A WOODCUTTER AND HIS AXE
Once there lived a poor woodcutter.
One day he was cutting wood on the bank of a river.
His axe fell into the river.
He sat on the bank and began to weep.
Suddenly an angel of mercy appeared.
She asked the reason of his weeping.
The woodcutter told the whole story.
Mercury dived into the water and brought the
golden axe.
The woodcutter refused to take it.
Mercury again dived in to the water and brought
the silver axe.
The woodcutter did not take it either.
Then she brought iron axe.
The woodcutter took it gladly.
Mercury was much pleased.
He rewarded the woodcutter with the other axes.
Moral: Honesty is the best policy

The driver of a car lost his balance at a turn.

We helped him to come out of the car.
He had received a big cut on the forehead.
The driver was the only person in the car.
The car was badly smashed.
This is unhappiest incident of my life.

Time once gone is gone forever". This sentence tells the true value of time. Time gives only one chance. We have to
put all effort and intelligence to make best use of it. Time is really a wonderful thing. It has no beginning and no
ending. All things are born in time, grow in time and then die in time. Time moves at its own pace. It cannot be
controlled. It does not wait for kings or princes and has no pity for beggars. It does not care for anybody. Most of us
think about passing time. We have made clocks and watch to guess its flow. But let me say we cannot divide it or
measure it. People say time is money. But I am saying that it is more precious than money. Money lost can be
recovered, but not the time lost. A moment lost is lost for ever. Time is ever changing. Change is the law of nature.
Nothing is independent of change or time. Mans life is very short but the load of work is much large and difficult.
There is so much to do in one's life. Therefore, we should not waste even a single minute. Every breath, every second
should be used properly and meaningfully.
WRITE THE 1/3 SUMMARY OF FOLLOWING PARAGRAPH AND ALSO WRITE ITS TITLE
How many things can you see in the night sky? A lot! On a clear night you might see the Moon, some planets, and
thousands of sparkling stars. You can see even more with a telescope. You might see stars where before you only
saw dark space. You might see that many stars look larger than others. You might see that some stars that look
white are really red or blue. With bigger telescopes you can see more objects in the sky with great detail. Scientists
believe there are a few things in the sky that we will never see. We will not see them with the biggest telescope in
the world, on the clearest night of the year. That is because they are invisible. They are the mysterious dead stars
called black holes. You may find it hard to imagine that stars die. After all, our Sun is a star. Year after year we see
it up in the sky, burning brightly, giving us heat and light. The Sun certainly doesn't seem to be getting old or weak,
but stars do burn out and die after billions of years.

There was a big tree more than hundred years old located in the middle of a dry land. It gave shelter to hundreds
and thousands of travellers with its big branches. One day, two travellers were travelling from a distant place to
reach the town. The sun was too hot and they could not walk anymore due to heat. They were completely exhausted.
Fortunately, they reached the place where the tree was located. They were very happy to see such a big tree with
breezing wind. They decided to take rest under the tree enjoying the soothing cool breeze. When they got up they felt
hungry. One of the travellers decided to climb the branches to see whether the tree has any fruit. Since it was not a
fruit-bearing tree, the traveller was disappointed. He started cursing the tree due to his hunger. Oh! This is just a
useless tree and it has nothing to feed us. The tree, which could not tolerate the cursing words of the traveller, in a
sad yet strong voice said, You cant be so ungrateful to me. If Im not here when you were very tired you would
have died now. I saved your life from the hot sun, but you humiliate me! The traveller realized his mistake and
apologized to the tree.

money. One night a thief came to the old mans bedroom. The old man got very frightened. He hid himself under
his bed and let the thief to do his work. The thief dug up the hole and began to take out money. When the old man
saw his forgotten money he gave a loud shriek. The thief got frightened. He dropped the money and ran away. The old
man was very happy to see the money. He was very excited about his discovery. Later he ran to tell his friends about
it.
