The Housing Staff at Temple University
Welcome You to Triangle Graduate Housing!
We are excited that you have decided to live with us in the Graduate Housing facility here at Triangle Apartments.
All residents and their guests are expected to know and abide by all Temple University and Graduate Housing rules
and regulations.
STAFF
William Fenton, Resident Director A full‐time Temple University staff member residing at the Podiatry Housing
Complex, and is responsible for Graduate Housing, consisting of the Triangle Apartments and the Podiatry Student
Resident Complex. William oversees the implementation of all Temple University rules and policies, management
of the faculty, and supervises the Resident Coordinator and Resident Assistant staff from at these two complexes.
Yeshe Legesse, Graduate Resident Coordinator, A full‐time Temple University Graduate Student, Tiana assists
in the day to day operations of Graduate Housing, consisting of Triangle Apartments and the Podiatry Student
Resident Complex. Yeshe primarily works with Triangle Apartments, and overseas the Triangle Office operations,
assists with the On Call rotation and works with the Graduate Resident Assistants on programming, assist with
conflict mediation and other activities.
Sara Mahmood (TR 4) & Jay Joshi (TR 77), Graduate Resident Assistants (GRAs) – are full‐time Temple
University Graduate Students. They live here at the Triangle complex. They are students selected on the basis of
their skills, interests and abilities which enable them to assist and advise students in obtaining the most from their
experience within Temple University. GRAs participate in the On Call rotation, facilitate programming for the
residents, assist with conflict mediation and run the check‐in and check‐out process.

On Call Rotation
Res Life on Call ‐ There is a Triangle Complex staff member on duty each evening and throughout the each
weekend. The GRA On‐Duty hours are from 7PM to 8:00 am, Monday through Friday and on a 24‐hour basis during
weekends and official University holidays, starting at 7:00 pm on Friday night. Students may contact the Res Life
on Call person on duty by calling the On Call Phone (2159102194)

UNIVERSITY HOUSING OFFICES
Triangle Housing Office is located in unit 79 across from the TV lounge. The office is open from 8:00 am to 7:00
pm, Monday through Friday, 10AM‐2PM on Saturday and Sunday. The phone number is 2152045165.
Temple University Housing Office (Main Office) is located at 1910 Liacouras Walk. The office is open Monday
through Friday from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm. The phone number is 2152047184.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
APARTMENT CONDITION
Your apartment will be assessed prior to your arrival and when you leave. Residents are responsible for keeping
their apartments in good and clean condition. Residents may not let the condition of their apartments become
unsanitary, unreasonably disorderly, or otherwise uncomfortable for other residents. Residents will be charged for
damages, reassigned and/or subject to removal from University sponsored housing for failure to properly maintain
the unit or report maintenance problems.
BICYCLES
Bicycles may be stored in rooms with permission of roommates. Riding bikes in the hallways or having them
secured to light posts is prohibited.
BULLETIN BOARDS
To help keep students informed of current events, bulletin boards are located in the mailbox area of each building.
We are always looking for volunteers to assist in designing the boards. If you would like to assist, contact your GRA
or the Triangle Housing Office.
DECORATIONS
Writing on doors, walls, etc. is strictly prohibited. Students will be held responsible for messages, stickers,
drawings or markings written on their walls, etc. No item should be placed on a student’s window or hung from a
window. Residents should not use nails, tacks or adhesive holders that cause damage to walls, ceilings, wood or
metal surfaces within the apartment.
EMERGENCIES
The Residential life staff is available to assist residents in emergency situations, and should be contacted
immediately. In the case of life‐threatening situations, the Police, Fire Department or ambulance may be called by
contacting Campus Safety at 215‐204‐1234, or 1‐1234 from your apartment phone.
GRILL USAGE
When a grill is present, it may be used after contacting and receiving permission from the Res Life
on Call person. The main user is responsible for grill usage, making sure that alcohol is not present
or consumed in the courtyard or TV lounge, and the grill is cleaned after use. Please call the Res Life
on Call person and inform them when you are finished.
GUEST POLICIES
All guests and visitors must be escorted while inside the complex. Please refer to the Grad Community Living
Standards for more specific information.
HEATING/AIR CONDITIONING
Each apartment is equipped with window air conditioning units. Heat is provided through radiators. The
thermostat is located at the base of the radiator. For assistance please put in a request through the Maintenance
Direct online system, or speak with the Res Life on Call person.
INTERNET ACCESS
The apartments are wired for direct internet access. Please follow the instructions on the Get
Connect handout, attached to this packet. Or you can call Computer Services at 215‐204‐8000.
LAUNDRY EQUIPMENT
The laundry room is located in building 1926 and is open 24 hours a day. To enter the laundry
facility, use your building key and enter the side entrance through the courtyard. There are a limited number of
washers and dryers available for a large number of people. Please be respectful of other residents who need to use
the washers and dryers by removing clothing immediately after the cycle ends. A change machine is located in the
TV lounge. If it is out of service please contact the Triangle Office or the Res Life Person on Call and notify them.
LOCKOUTS
Students who are locked out of their apartment should go to the Triangle Office between 8AM
MON‐7PM FRI, 10AM‐2PM SAT or SUN or contact the Res Life Person on Call if outside of those
hours. Students will receive a charge of $10 on their housing bill for each lockout. You will not
be charged for the first two lockouts during the year.
LOST OR STOLEN KEYS
Lost or stolen keys should be reported to the Res Life Person On Call or the Triangle Housing Office. The locks will
be changed and you will be assessed a charge to your housing account in relation to the costs of labor and
replacement keys.
MAIL
The U.S. Postal Service delivers mail daily, except Sunday. Mail and/or small parcels/packages that do not fit into
the mailbox will be left in the lobby. Packages delivered by UPS, FedEx and Priority Mail are also left in the lobby. If
you see packages for neighbors, please bring the package into the secure area of the lobby.
MAINTENANCE/HOUSEKEEPING
Maintenance repair requests should be reported to the maintenance department through the online Maintenance
Direct request system. Please follow the directions provided to register and open your account. If you have
problems navigating the system contact the office at 215‐204‐5165.
MOVINGIN/ MOVINGOUT During the Academic Year
Students leaving or moving into Triangle Apartments Complex must complete a formal check our or check in
process. Avoid excess charges by contacting the Triangle Housing Office for specific check out and room change
instructions.
NOISE
As a mixed living environment, everyone follows varied work, study and sleep schedules. While at Triangle there
are 24‐hour courtesy hours in effect. This means that noise should not be heard outside of your apartment or in the
interior or exterior common areas and grounds. For more information please refer to the Graduate Community
Living Standards attached to this document.
Quiet hours are in effect from 10:00 pm to 10:00 am weekdays and midnight to 12 noon on weekends.
PARKING
On street parking in university parking lots are available. For more information regarding university parking,
contact Parking Services at 215‐204‐PARK.
PETS
Students are not permitted to keep pets in any Temple University Housing facility.
PHONES
Campus telephone service is provided. Upon check‐in your telephone jack is turned on. Students are responsible
for providing their own phone. A calling card or cell phone is required to make calls that extend beyond the
campus. For information please contact Telecommunications at 215‐204‐7722.
PROPERTY INSURANCE
The University assumes no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property. Students are strongly
encouraged to contact an insurance agent concerning possible protection against such losses or for coverage under
a family homeowner’s policy.
SMOKING
In accordance with Temple University policy, smoking is NOT permitted in Triangle Complex housing, including
surrounding exteriors.
TRASH & RECYCLING
There are two trash collection areas that are located near the rear of 1922 N. Broad and 1428 Norris Street. Paper
and plastic recycling is provided in the blue bins located near the exit gate nearest the parking area behind the
Triangle Complex. Students are responsible for removing and disposing of trash appropriately. Trash should be
placed in plastic bags and tied before disposing of it in the dumpster. Trash should not be left on the floor of the
trash area. Common area damages may be assessed if trash is not disposed of properly.
TELEVISION SERVICE
Each apartment is equipped with basic collegiate television service for a specific and
non‐negotiable set of channels. Additional services or channels may not be contracted
for. Cable boxes may be installed during the 2010‐11 academic year. More specific
information will be provided in the future.
TV LOUNGE
A wide screen television is available for your viewing pleasure in the TV lounge located in the TV lounge building,
1926 B. Your building key unlocks the door. Programming activities by student groups and/or Residential Life staff
pre‐empts television viewing.
